Thanks for the tip with the spin control center. I have not realised before that it affects scoring as well. I just never built it because i thought it just virtually powers up your planetary defense and keeps the enemy from attacking. I almost never get successful enemy attacks, so i saw no use in building it. Are there any real bonuses of it besides military score? Maybe it is important for my score that i build more platary defense improvements and keep a few ships in orbit?
Once you know what it actually does, the description doesn't matter any more.
I personally belong to those players that can fully enjoy games only when they are atmospherically intact. A game is a simulation and so i want the simulation to be logically correct. A simple text, that explains what the numbers symbolize adds much to the atmosphere of a game in my opinion. When the text is plainly wrong, it doesnt just kill the atmosphere, it also confuses beginners. So i thin
I saw that you sbumitted another victory di55ex7ion and are above 100k points now. I sure wish they would make ToA MV compatible soon too!
ToA in MV will rock! The tournament option seems great to me. I hope the`ll develop a good system to integrate TA into the MV. Hopefully the old scores do not get lost for TA. Regarding my score - my new game was only 2000 points better than my old although it was a higher difficulty and i think i managed my military much b
I dont think there is really a bug - only things that might seem as if moves are lost. In fact there are no moves lost you dont want to be lost. Just a quick introduction into the game mechanics as i understand them: You set the destination of a ship by clicking on a position. If this position is not reachable with the amount of left moves, the ship will go into auto-pilot state and continue following this path. The autopilot moves are executed upon clicking the turn-button ri
I agree with changing the description. Just give a simple explanation for it like: "Brain controlling devices implanted in our citizens central nervous system allow to rip them off financially without being asked. This can quite double our economic output. Of course citizens of planets not under our rule will notice this harsh method and will be less encouraged to join our empire regardless of our influence in the sector. But - who cares? ;D"
Place 1 for a time - and i am not one of the worse members. =) Too bad i have TA now. It is not yet metaverse compatible - quite hard to decide whether to have metaverse scoring or new features ;)
Hmm, i would not have suspected being below average with 24 years...
It didnt took me long to get wet hands and so i bought TA today. What i can see now looks very impressive. Race`s individual technology-trees take the game to the next level. It will be definitely worth its money. I realized you implemented an option to animate parts in the ship designer. Just a small feat but what would you say to the possibility to get lights to blink?
How much does the "Force AI to use max CPU" option affect performance? I have an Athlon 3200+ XP - will i be able to enable it? (I could just try, i just have a game running without it and that leads to my next question:) How much does the option affect gameplay? Is it much harder with this option enabled? I do not exactly understand the difference between this option and the intelligence option in the enemy selection screen. The intelligence option does affect
...End of April. I still remember getting the email, claiming it would be released NOVEMBER, LAST YEAR. D: We added a lot of additional features over what was going to be in the November release.
I really prefer that option over a early release. It is great to actually participate in the developing of a game by testing the betas and posting suggestions here. I think this is WAY better than having an incomplete flawy product released as soon as possible. In my opinion
In fact i do not know any other game (besides online multiplayer games like Diablo II and maybe CounterStrike) I have spent more time with. Normally i get bored very early on, most games never even make it being played through because i have a problem to be concentrated on one game for many hours. Most games just dont entertain me long enough. Because of some mysterious unknown reason this game is not this way. GalCiv II keeps entertaining me for hours and hours and it seems that the long
It may be a bit late for TA, but i think the battles could look more dynamic. I want small fighters to look like little insects flying around the huge hulled motherships and i would like a camera, that orientates a bit better on the battle, not just one that circles around a ship in random fashion and loses all of the action. The "camera AI" could be a bit better, every camera position leaves me with the feeling of not really seeing the things i want to. I do not really know how to realize this
Do you have any recommendations for using the different sized hulls besides having an army earlier? In my games i usually built smaller sized hulls rarely - i wait until huge hulls are available and get a fleet with massive warships. I dont know whether this is a good strategy. What are the benefits of smaller sized ships? I find them to only have less space to put things on. Smaller ships get destructed more easily in battle. Is it good to use combined fleets with different hull sizes, maybe th
Just one suggestion - maybe you should just insert a warning window or something in the selection screen or make it truly obvious, that mega events can have serious disbalancing effects on gameplay. Maybe mega-events option disabled by standard and a message window upon activation that states how mega-events function and that they can also get seriously to the disadvantage of the player but otherwise provide an interesting challenge to those who like challenges. That would prevent newbies to get
Well if you liked DA, you would probally like TA. The biggest focus has been on the unique tech trees. Many of the tech trees do look, and feel like stuff was renamed, and reorganized. However, some of the other tree have been changed enough that many people have complained that you can't play these races, something that I'm not surprised about. In DA, you could probally expect to start out with the ability to build factories, labs, morale buildings, farms, and economy buildings. In TA, so
Hey guys, i do own the Galactic Civilizations II Dread Lords Gold Edition In another thread i read there are other versions of the game as well: 2) You're using the wrong serial. This is a simple but common mistake. The Collector's/Limited Editions of the game normally include two serial keys (one for the game, one to unlock the special extra content). Be sure you're not trying to register with the CE serial (the one that begins with GC2). Use the other one which consist
How does compare TA to DA in content? Honestly, DA does improve the game very much, but i am not sure, i would spend 30$ for it, if i owned DL only. I own the Gold edition and it was a investion i do not regret. As it sounds so far, TA adds far more to the game than DA and you got my mouth watery already. Does TA have its own serial-code or is it just online-activation in your existing SD-Account? P.S.: Stardock, i appreciate your work, but why is it so hard to get your games in fo
The question may sound stupid - to all those that already own TA and have played the beta: Would you advise me buying it? The unique technology trees are very appealing, but just be honest. Any critics yet?
If I order TA and download it, will i be able to get it in a form i can put on digital media myself? I like to have a physical medium for the case i do want to play but not having an internet connection. Besides - what about the retail design of the box, TA is advertised with on this site? Only a fake?
I usually play the big hit FPS tiles for PC like Crysis, Quake 4, etc. just to see them because they are so graphically amazing. But, once you've played them through, it's like okay, saw it, done. They might be worth one or two replays. Not the best value out there.
I know. Most FPS cant even motivate me enough to play through. I dont know why but 1-2 hours of playing and i get saturated with these games and have to do other things. With GalCiv II i need to take c
How about Computer Geeks Not Getting Laid vs Surfers that do? How long you gonna keep playing the former game?
Where is the problem with getting laid AND playing computer games? This is not WOW we are talking about. ^^ Imagine, there may be people that enjoy playing a computer game in their freetime just for fun and not for a substitution for life.
Although i havent played Sins yet i surely can tell that any modern RTS game cannot be compared with Starcraft. Stracraft was groundbreaking and a great game for sure. But as any other genre RTS has developed much since Starcraft. SC had its quality in good balancing, very differently playing races and a Multiplayer that was pure fun. As said before i do not know sins yet, but i know that Stracraft in its old form would not really work in a modern game because the standards have changed. As well
One of the patches reduced the resolution of planetary improvements and other things. Does this really help to boost performance? I would like to disable it and get my old look back. Is there a way to do this?
Did you update the game with stadockcentral to the newest version?
