I can also only advice to use paypal. I am german as well and paypal is free, the payment with it on ebay and other online shops is very uncomplicated. Actually once you successfully registered it is only a matter of clicks and it translates currencies immediately, so it is really good for anthing concerning international payments. Just check paypal.com and see how it works.

I am not very interested in Impulse i have to say. So I see no need to buy Demigod. If you gave me Warp for it we could talk... ;)
Does anyone know what terror stars do to your military rating? Logic tells me other races should be impressed when you have the ability to destroy whole star systems. It should give a lot of military points...
[link="http://www.cosmicrealms.com/galciv2/"]Interactive Tech Tree[/link] Something like this?
I got it to attack the star. The problem was i had to click on the star and wait until it arrived on it. I was too impatient and did not see any reaction, so i gave up too early. Maybe a small cursor change when pointing on a star to destroy to indicate you can attack it or any other form of feedback when attacking would be fine for people like me ^^
ok, so it does only attack stars, kk i tried clicking on a star, maybe i was not patient enough for it to attack and thought it does do nothing
Terror Stars can be a extremely devastating weapon when used in a medium to small sized map but you will find that in the larger maps the movement restriction is just ridiculous and you don't want to wait 60 weeks for your terror star to get where it needs to go.
Would be cool if they implement a "wormhole gener
The two largest factors that shape your entire game is: -Where your starting planet is in relation to the other players and. -Your starting planet's bonuses
I agree that it can be impossible to win if you are starting somewhere in the corner with to planets, the next one aeons away and already captured when you arrive. But in my opinion every game you can get enough other planets can be rescued if you play well.
As said colonizing planets is important. If you cannot get enough planets in the beginning to push your economy etc so far you are able to develop you have lost. Do not rely on the first two planets and believe you can get far this way. ;) The first thing you concentrate on is building colony ships. Thus you buy the first factory - if you have manufacturing bonus tiles - perfect. Focus on military production on your homeworld to push colony ship production. A ship every few weeks does fine. Reme
You can enable cheats by creating a shortcut to GalCiv2.exe and use that to start the game. 1. Use Windows Explorer to find GalCiv2.exe, or right-click the game in Stardock Central and select Open Folder 2. Right click on GalCiv2.exe (not GC2Launch.exe) and choose create shortcut 3. Right click on the shortcut and choose properties 4. Click in the target field and hit end, then hit space followed by the word CHEAT (no switch marks necessary) For
terror stars are built like starbases with constructors. Do not ask me how to get them destroying something, because that is exactly the problem i am stuck with and waiting for an answer ^^
Ok, i did it. I have built my first terror star. BTW i would rather have them to look a bit bigger, they are not much bigger than my small hulled ships and they are called terror stars , not terror tennisballs. But somehow i did not find out how to actually destroy star systems. Maybe someone that is able to can explain how to do it or post a screenshot, i simply do not have a button to activate it and clicking on enemy targets does nothin
Stardock developed a new device, called the "Mind Control Center", which allows them to take over Microsoft, by mysterious means generally doubles their economic output and gives them control over everything that has to do with computers in the future.
That would be annoying. The least important race on the map secretly builds a terror star and blows up your homeworld star while you are busy with the real enemies. You can not even get revenge by stealing more planets back because they only have one... No, i dont believe its possible. Developing the terror star just binds too much resources that it is likely a minor race will ever be able to build one. But thats a cool idea for an mega-event. Minor races get terror stars from
It is just weird to pick a part of history, take some historical backgrounds and formulations out of WWII as well as some out of Cold War and put them together in some absolutely new random fashion to create an alternative history that has nothing to do with the real background. It may be just a matter of taste, but you can either simulate history in the way it really happened or create some new fictional aspect of history, that does not contradict historical events. But you dont mix these thin
what do you guys think of the story?-Dave
I am sorry when i do offend you, but i just honestly give you my opinion as a german with the accordant historical background. To me it feels and reads strange - or more colloquially expressed: It is a big bunch of stupid sounding bullsh*t.
I`ll just quote my statements in another topic here, because it fits well better here:
just a matter of taste maybe, but i think the term "jihad of krynn" is weird. Maybe you americans are using the term colloquially for any form of fanatism, but actually it is a definite term for a part of human muslim culture. Putting it into a futuristic game for a nonexistent alien species creates a similar sensation like giving the Yor the "Christian Crusade" technology...
[
The second page of the Krynn back story was filled with philosophical talk (which is where this should have gone to IMHO)...none actually picked the jihad part of it though.https://forums.galciv2.com/169514/page/2
THX, sry for the offtopic, i will continue vituperating there ;)
TA will push the game to the next level i assume. What is not delievered by the devs will be done by the modders. :CONGRAT:
I may continue the list: -Use the colony list! Since version #idonno you are able to do almost everything you can do by clicking on the planet right out of the list. You can change priorities, buy or build buildings and change what the starport is building. You may know that, but what really disturbed me is the fact that you get to the beginning of the list when you click "done" in the building window. I lost the overview where i already bought something quite quickly. But yesterday i
To get back2topic: There just came a feature in my mind i really would appreciate in the game: The possibility to rename planets in colony list. The building features and starport control are a really great improvement, it makes micromanagement much easier. I realized, that it took me most of the time to rename my planets, because i have to select them out of the list, exit the list, click on it on the map and rename it. A simple option to rename it in the
Remember using the spore ships will instantly put you in a hostile position towards others because genocide is not appreciated in the galaxy ;) Keep it until you have the military resources to afford a big war. Push your military to acquire more pressure on the others. Me personally often disregarded the worth of a big military force. Your influence on others stands and falls with the military power you have. Btw - did you try to skip the planet over by building influence starbases around i
To the good man with the Yor icon,Jihad means a religious 'inner struggle' with one's beliefs that was only used to describe Holy War by Saladin to raise support for his reconquest of the Crusader states. If that's wrong, by all means correct me (I'm jewish myself \m/-_-\m/). And it woulnd't be all that silly to give the yor a crusade tech. Abbadon the Dispoiler's had...what, thirteen Black Crusades now (Warhammer 40k)?Regardless, I'm off topic. I've noticed that on 'challenging' difficu
Piznit, you are absolutely right. Actually it is the MCC that makes you addicted to this game. Once you played the game far enough to build the Mind Control Center it sucks you into the game`s reality and you will never be able to stop playing GalCivII ;) What was that about a wafer-thin slice of our souls? Goddamn you, Stardock!
If you have a save from the game you just played, you could reload, try some of these things, and see what difference it makes. then re-submit to the MV with the higher score. Remember though that doing things early is very key, so the difference likely wont be dramatic for that particular game. Sentient species taste better...
That actually does work? I didnt know that. Mmmmh, so you theoretically can play old games again and push your scores? Both of you
I just couldnt stand waiting longer and bought TA yesterday to see what its about. As far as i can conclude the expansion will be fully worth its money, there are a lot of great improvements to the game. My own personal wishlist for the game contains only some minor improvements: -the option to animate parts is a great idea, i would like to have blinking lights as well -a thing i would like to have had in DA would be the automation of loading troop transports - in a g
