ok, but how do i solve this. i had sdc show beta available. i do think the beta i have came out after 2.01.014 and i installed it. should i leave well enough alone. or if i uninstall cursorfx will impulse show the latest public release as installable?

let me add to this.i have inpulse installed. cursor fx plus. installed beta: 2.01[b] .041 latest update 8/5/2008. before impulse took over i of course got updates via stardock central. i have no problems with corsorfx. everything works well. but, back to my concern. why is a beta still the latest update out there?

what is the latest release level of cursorfx plus. the level i have says it was released in aug 2008 i believe. why would the latest level up to this time still be a beta?

i thought i would clean up my system a little. i uninstalled cfx, cleaned up the registry, then reinstalled cfx(final) within stardock central. it works fine. only thing is it does not show up in windows installed programs list.

its here. seems to have corrected all problems i had. i had install failure at first. it worked after i disabled my firewall. never had to do that before.

its working well. i do remind stardock that the history has not yet been updated for beta4. one thing still persists. the candyman cursor still has the waitstate jump thing on the desktop and the waitsate scroll right to left thing in thecurrent theme display in the control panel. it may not be a cfx problem. it could be a scripting problem. i havnt looked at the script and frame thing yet. candyman is a relatively complex cfx theme, but drop plus is even more complex and there are no problems w

its here! only one thing. after the download and install the first thing i did was to bring up the history. there was nothing on beta4 there. darn. it may have been forgotten, maybe it will come, but after bouncing all our problems and opinions off each other and me babbling about a little info, it wasnt there. oh well. now the fun begins again.

zubaz: im not complaining. i was just asking for a little information. people post here on the problems they have. they also post on maybe this is the problem or that is a problem. getting some info will tell me that they bother to read this forum and that our thoughts are on track or way off. some of us are or were programmers. most of us have inquireing minds. you dont want stardock to be another symantec, do you?

all is quiet on the cfx front. the silence is deafening. i know we have a beta but we paid for it. the developers should be pasing along some form of information. lets see what we have. the cursor under thing can happen for almost anything from hitting the start button to you name it. i abbreviate to the cu affect. even in the cu effect cursor trails and even effects still stay on top. amazing. ihave deduced the following. the cursor in windows is by definition always on top. you can not get rid

excuse my post above. i did not fully read the first reply. it should still work. another thing you can do is get yourself a startup manager. there are plenty of good free ones out there. you can disable cursorfx from there.

we all know this program is in beta stage. there is no need to argue with each other about the wys and wherefors we bought it. the sole purpose should be to give info to the developers that will help them fix it. perhaps trhe latest release should have contained only the bug fixes for us to test and play with and not include new function. at any rate another oddity has occured to me. with each new update we have had to redo all our settings. with the previous release we were given the option of

more to add to the above problems. effects settings do not hold between reboots. another oddity. when using the candyman theme cursor. when in its wait state it jumps back and forth about an inch. inj the control panel after selecting it the current theme display shows the wait state of it continually scrolling right to left. thats the best way i can explain it.

i have to correct myself. the cursor going under thing seems to happen after every reboot. and the cursor wasnt going under icons. it was going under the taskbar.

75 Replies 24,721 Views

all im saying is this only started acuring after the update. my cursor would go under everything including the icons in the taskbar and also the start button. i went back to the windows default cursors and then tried regular cursor again and the problem went away. i dont know the whys and wherefors. in case its of any importance, i have window vista home premium.

i was just notified by sdc that an update was available and let it install and let the system reboot. and as mentioned already i noticed my cursor going under everything. i found that resetting the cursor to windows default and then reseting to the cursor i want solved the problem. you will probably also have to redo your effects settings.

i have vista home premium. using the free version of cursorfx. using a cfx cursor when i try to select an item from a dropdown menu on any website nothing happens. it does work with the windows default cursor. i take this to be a bug.
