Dark Avatar Graphic Problem in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

I recently installed Galciv 2 Gold Edition. When I start a DA game, Their are no ships, no planet, no resources, no asteroids, nor anomolies. Heck all I get are the icon for when we zoom out completely. On the other hand, when I play the Dread Lords Chapter everything is fine. Any assistance would be greatly appreaciated.
