I am also having this problem. It seems to hide when the desktop has the focus, and come back when any other window (even the start menu) is brought into focus. It would be great if this could be worked out, as I use Google Desktop as an alternative to the resource-hogging Windows Sidebar. Thanks in advance for the help! ;)
