I've never had a problem with planets continuing under the effect, and I've never had to "shut the ability off". I let it run until it quits automatically or the planet is destroyed, and move on.
It's only happened to me when you have a colonizer capital ship with colonize on autocast. The ability has a set duration that does not expire upon the planet you just destroyed with Hysteria turning over to your side. Simply moving the ship that uses Provoke Hysteria
and use a gravity tractor or evacuate the base..or blow up your really far away ship and its projectile.
A gravity tractor? If you mean some sort of probe hovering nearby to minutely deflect the path of the object through gravitational attraction, then yes, that's a possibility. Now is this defense base going to have thousands of them and have them be effective enough to pull weapons away to a sufficiently divergent flight path? Probably not. Meanwhile, the fleet will
Provoke Hysteria in my experience does continue to affect the planet after you've colonized it if its duration has not expired. However, I've never seen it actually destroy a colony of your own as it seems the planet health just hovers at 200 and neither grows nor shrinks. As soon as you shut the ability off, planet growth is as normal.
The feasibility of large stationary defenses in space such as ones proposed on moons would not work as expected. While they may sound neat having the capacity to be bristling with weaponry and other defenses, any sufficiently technically advanced group would be able to dispatch them without any losses. Mobile ships could stay light-minutes away, far out of the base's weapons range and pummel the target with simple kinetic weaponry. Or big rocks, if you prefer that description.
Just to make your life difficult, bailknight. ;) Keep up the good work man.
I've already done it dozens of times in the other thread.
Yeah, your explanations have been real gems, Innociv:
THERE IS NO CHOICE. You CANNOT CHOOSE to not buy 200 crystal, or at least 100, at the start. It's OUT OF THE QUESTION. If you don't, you have lost.
Excuse me for paying more interest in users who actually feel like discussing the issue. That okay with you? Okay, thanks.
Or maybe we should just continue to ignore you as the troll you are. Sounds like a plan to me. Anyone without a superiority complex want to explain the advantages/disadvantages of this in more detail? And if you do upgrade your home planet's infrastructure post-haste, do you also do the same on all new conquered territories?
Odd. I was just playing the mod on 1.03 for about 20 minutes with no problems. I had never put in the GameInfo changes, but the extra graphical effects are there and working fine.
Woot! Much appreciated devs.
The command you're looking for already exists. CTRL-Shift-Z.
You can also scuttle an unfinished building for full resources.
Eh, I guess it costs a lot, but it always restores more antimatter than it uses which is nice.
Ah, a checksum issue, I see. Appreciate the explanation, though that is a little bit of a depressing situation now that I think about it.
I haven't had much of a chance to test it myself, but does flak burst even hit strikecraft? If so, then yes, it definitely needs its damage raised as I've never seen fighter or bomber squadrons seem crippled or even hurt badly after using such an expensive ability.
Yeah, I honestly wouldn't mind an explanation as to why it is the way it is either. If one were only changing what the graphics look like on your own client, why does Sins care when it comes to playing with others online? Since a few others have been so touchy in this thread, I guess I'll add that I'm seriously just asking a question here and not attacking anyone. :p
A market lockout time sounds like an adequate solution if a bit inelegant. What would be the effect of randomized starting prices for both metal and crystal at the beginning of a game?
Frankly, I'm just tired of posters like innociv and others being the braggarts they are, all the while insulting other players, and then asking them to jump on board with the idea that something is horribly broken and needs to be 'fixed'. If you're such a marvelous champion of the game, why don't you just adapt to such idiosyncrasies, or barring that, submit a suggestion to Ironclad on how it could be made better instead of constantly whining that entire systems are busted? I d
Yes, appreciate the answer. For my part, I'd like to clarify that I was never complaining about the lack of dual-core support or stating it would be easy to put in. I just wanted to know if it was or was not part of the game.
I'd also like to know the possibility of this. I've also read some Intel users supposedly having their other cores working while I've checked my AMD processor and it's operating purely on one core.
Read someone else's post on this problem before. As I recall, he found that the shortcut he was using had an additional command at the end that was forcing WMP to open on quit. Check your shortcut to make sure it's free of any such superfluous commands.
Tag for later.
Fighters and bombers set to auto-dock and auto-launch before and after phase jumps will launch in systems where it's prohibited. I'm not sure if magnetic clouds or other types are included in this, but plasma storms will definitely not allow the launching of strikecraft, yet I have them buzzing around because of this bug.
I don't know what to say about your situation. The other night, my friend has his video driver crash problem, but worse than usual and it ended his game. I had saved shortly before but for whatever reason, when I hosted the game, he would load into one of our old matches that had the same name. I then sent him the .save and .stats file of the correct game, he replaced them and I was able to host the game just fine. You may want to play around more with your save files to see
A) TEC Refinery Ships and Trade Ships, when upgraded with Civilian Safety Act, have two armor entries in their tooltip. This is really weird.
Pretty sure I know what you're talking about and it's not a bug. The yellow entry is their actual armor rating. The green text is counting as a bonus modifier from the research showing you what it's adding to the base value. Much like antimatter regeneration, shield restoration, etc. As for typos, there's a misspelling i
An additional point on pirate attacks. In my 1v1 game last night against a friend, I happened to coordinate an attack of mine to hit at the same time in the same system pirates were pillaging. The bounty was far higher on my opponent than me, yet for some reason the pirates seemed far more entertained by firing on my ships than on his. I can understand if I was doing more damage they might have been irritated and also that I still had some bounty on my head. It would seem to be a goo
