Heh, I'm not criticizing or claiming it's unoriginal. So many commented about a lack of death magic though, I thought I'd add that bit that life/death has been treated as one thing many times before.
Mazuo
There's nothing really new with grouping life and death magic into one field. Hell BG2 classified all those types of spells as necromancy. Didn't matter if you were raising skeletons or bringing a party member back to life.
Coelocanth, let's leave the issue of piracy to the side for a moment. The most important point I've been trying to get across is that flooding a review site with crummy reviews is nothing more than painting graffiti on a wall. While that may seem a romantic notion to some of the little guy versus the giant, the realistic
I wasn't enthused until I saw the combat gameplay example screenshot. Depending on how the development evolves, I think I could be very interested in Elemental.
why in the name of would pirates complain about DRM?
You have one in this very topic. Ask him. Also, I'd suggest you go back and actually read my posts before attributing any more positions to me that I did not take. I've repeatedly stated I'm against EA's DRM policy and against other companies following suit. What I disagreed with was the gamers' response to such mechanisms being championed in this topic.
how can you find any people?
Players without the sync patch were on every time I logged on. For my part, whenever I get on, I'll be creating a 1.1 Sync Patch channel and waiting in there.
While it's true that most of the reviews are by people that didn't even buy the game
That would sort of be the whole point. Pirates defacing a review page aren't going to hold much sway with EA. Look, you're preaching to the choir when you complain about EA and its publishing methodology. It's lunacy to think that things are going to change when gamers make themselves look like the bad guys though. The light has to stay fixed on EA for bad corp
As bad as anti-piracy methods are that don't stop pirates and irritate legitimate consumers, the whole Amazon fiasco was just that. There's no possibility that those are all unique individuals who bought the game and are upset about SecuROM, without some sort of coordination to flood the site, or we'd see this phenomenon all the time. In fact, it's just some people acting rather immaturely and vandalizing a game review page. What is the point of a 5-star rating system when
I tried a few times today, but yeah, all I found were 1.1 beta folks. I should be on during the day tomorrow, so maybe we can arrange a game then.
I think it's certainly possible. Make sure you install whatever drivers came with your monitor so your computer recognizes it fully. I had strange resolution options in some games before I did that. Not that it needs to be said, but keep in mind I'm pretty much blindly guessing here. [e digicons]:P[/e]
I'm in-game and think I'm on IRC too, but it's a ghost town. If anyone gets a 1.1Sync game going, let me know. Edit: Seen a bunch of people with the 1.1 Beta so far, but nobody with the desync-testing patch since all games I've joined have warned me I have a different version. I'll try again later as I have some errands to run.
I haven't played in months and months online, but I'll give this a shot. Downloading...
Well, like I said, that might not be the version you're looking for, but it's got the abilities and buffs in there.
I don't have a link to the post, but a forum poster provided the reference files the other day I believe. I can't find the thread, but here's the download link: http://hosted.filefront.com/SpardaSon21 They may not be current, so apologies in advance if that's the case.
Weird. I checked the TEC scout numerous times and never had any issue. Oh well, very glad it's fixed regardless.
While I can get what you're saying about multiple refineries not being cumulative in the same system, without going in-game and researching it right now, I'd have to say I was pretty sure that refinery ship chains from multiple systems do in fact give a pretty decent bonus.
Is it possible the duplicate resolutions are for 16 and 32 color-bit depth?
Considering we already have phase jumping trade ships, I really like the idea of using the refinery ship model as a shipping force. Wonder if it was toyed with in beta. In-system would be pretty damn safe as the ships would just wait at the asteroid and move to the planet and back when they had a full cargo. From asteroids in dead systems, you could have them phase to the nearest controlled system. This would allow for more strategy as well with opponents being able
Basically when you ships are mvoving and firing at ships that are also moving and firing there's a percent chance to hit
Is this hardcoded? Because I've certainly never seen anything in the ship files that evidence such a behavior.
New info in the following link casts some doubt on that: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=328059
Everyone knows that they are useless
Hate to be mean, but this thread failed right here.
I'll admit I've been confused by the boost to accuracy. Short of some stats I read a while back about flak having a less than 100% chance to hit strikecraft, I've always assumed that all other ships always hit. So what does that increased chance to hit really translate to?
Love the new info about Starbase Logistics being a new research sink and the lack of tactical slots being a requirement for construction. My interest is still piqued by this mysterious 'heavy construction ship' however. Also, with the available upgrade types listed for the TEC starbase, I have to say I'm tempted to see one constructed with just trade upgrades for some mega-income gatherer purpose.
I suppose it could be looked at, but you already end up with quite a few squads on capital ship carriers and they're not by any means completely defenseless without them like the cruiser carriers are. Plus, they get abilities that augment their strikecraft already that cruisers don't get.
Three planned micro-expansions at around $10 each and then a retail boxed version of all three together when they're all done. As for the modders, I'm guessing the devs will be a lot more speedy at getting the reference data, etc. out there once Entrenchment and the final version of the 1.1 patch are out.
