Colony Rush in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

I've heard mention of the "colony rush" stage of the game. However, I find myself spread to thin and losing too much money if I grab more than 3 planets right off the bat. Is it better to focus on 1 or 2 high quality planets or slowly build up 4 or 5 (or more) lower class?

2 Questions from a relative newcomer 1: Can starbases be moved? If not, what do I do with an influence starbase once the planets near it have revolted to my side? 2: How do I add weapons/defenses to my flagship? Or any ship that I don't want to fully upgrade to a new design?
