To give you more of an idea of the scale; when I first started playing I thought the first zone was going to be all there was to it. Needless to say the subsequent continents made me very very happy. But not as happy as the recent announcement of an expansion. [e digicons]\o/[/e]

Most people view number 3 as the classic, definative version. I was always a bit partial to number 4, if only because I felt there was a tonne of variety in their different campaigns and I really grew attached to some of the characters in those. However the general opinion from the long time HoMM fans is that of Bomberross' and as 4 was t
Publishers advertise, create the box, dvd, manual, and ship them to walmart? is that it? I'm also surprise they chose SquareEnix instead of stardock.
Another thing publishers often do is supply the developers with an advance, bankrolling the development. Also they often perform the market research, and then provide feedback to the developers (<a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ExecutiveMeddling"

That exact thing happened in my last game, but I forgot to grab a screenshot. In my case they were trapped on the Crystal for a long time, 5 to 10 mins I'd guess, but they did eventually get free although I didn't see how. They may have teleported off it eventually.

Sorry, I should have linked to Kotaku's post on it instead of RPS' as it has the full press release, which clears up a couple of those points. http://kotaku.com/5084176/supreme-commander-2-brought-to-you-by-square-enix "London (12th November 2008) – Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories (Squar

They could always add an option to turn off the announcer. That way we could all enjoy hearing how smite-alicious we are without putting off the people who don't like it.

Sorry for the long title, couldn't think how to phrase it concisely. Basically, if you change the game mode from duplicate to unique demigods in the options in the lobby if two players are already duplicate demigods they can stay that way. Say if I was 1 v 1 both TB, then put it on unique mode, we'd both still be able to play as TB, and only if you go into the demigod selection screen will it prevent you from selecting TB as he's already taken by someone else. Not sure if this is

Just want to second that. Started having some major performance problems on both maps when I got Beta 1a but as of 1c everything seems much much better, very smooth again. Laptop Specs: Intell T7400 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUS) 2GB Ram 2 X Gerforce Go 7950 (SLI)

In the external link there is a news bulletin that origionaly said thought that Chris Taylor of GPG had left to join Interplay to work on a Fallout MMO; but they've since edited it after I let them know they'd got mixed up.

Does anyone know how to deal with the: "Please make sure that UDP traffic from local port 68 to port 67 at 5.0.0.1 is allowed. Alternatively you can try completely disabling the firewall on hamchi adapter." error? I don't understand what it means by allowing the UDP traffic at 5.0.0.1. I can forward the ports to my comptuer at my router, but not 5.0.0.1. Thanks if you can help.

Well it would be pretty easy to implement a notice like they use for telling you you got a deny in DOTA, where an unobtrusive little ! pops up above the creep. Easy to ignore, doesn't get in the way. Plus you could always have an option to turn it off.

Because Warcraft 3 introduced the RPG style hero units who gained experience from attacking creep camps, allowing you to customise thier abilities and the items they were carrying. [e digicons];P[/e]

It's also important to remember that we haven't seen the general type Demigods yet; or maps with more flags to capture that do other things. Both of those may make it varied enough from DotA for it to stand well on its own. Plus it has alot less emphasis on microing, no last hitting, juking etc, which may tick some people off, but on the other hand gives the game a shorter learning curve so makes it more accesable which could help its appeal. Ditto for the amount of heroes.

I had a similar thing. I placed an observer ward (or whatever they're called in this) so I could see the enimies mines, and my ranged creeps would be mass attacking it with it taking no damage.
