Are there any plans to re-institute multiple non-admin users for WB5? None of the workarounds seem to work for me. Or am I missing something? I still get the permissions error when it tries to load no matter what I do, including the rror when trying to run wbload first. TIA

You have it working with mulyiple non-admin accounts? The RC2 that I updated to, still will not do it. It crashes when I try to load wbconfig. Works fine for admin accounts. I tried the run wbload first work around and that gives me a permissions denied error. Anyone know if this will return to the gold release?

Those are the very old drivers. Unfortunately, they are not very optimized so there is a pretty good hit on GUI performance. While I can understand ATI saying they won't look at something that affects another beta app, my point to them is that they obviously changed something in how alpha belnding is handled by the drivers for 9200 and earlier cards and they need to either catch up or tell others what they changed. They probably won't, they

I sent an email to them, assumed it was them. Upon further reading I do see they point out that older versions with new drivers will be installed for 9200 and earlier All-In-One and VIVO cards. I suspect they have abandoned these cards. Probably had hardware changes in newer cards that new drivers support, but can not support in older hardware.

It appears there is no way around it. I found that updating with online drivers, even one version above the 7/19/2003 version on my CD, breaks it again. Did ATI perhaps change the API for accessing alpha blending in later drivers? Kind of stinks that I can never update the driver without breaking per pixel support. Can't afford a new card right now, so I guess I'll be stuck for the time being. Interstingly enough, it does work fine on a 9700 Pro with the latest drivers and Catalyst Control Cente

I noticed in another thread that several other people with Radeon 9200 cards don't get the per pixel in WB5. The card specs say it supports alpha blending, etc., but WB5 says it does not. Is this a WB5 problem or a misleading spec for the card? Anyone know? I am using the latest Catalyst drivers (5.11 11-11-2005) and the latest WB5 beta (4.96b.003) Thanks for any thoughts.

I have watched the drama shows unfold in New Orleans over the past 2 weeks and waited for an event like today. If you recall, early last week Mayor Nagin began to discuss his grandiose plan for quickly getting everyone back to the city, even before the flood waters were half gone, let alone clean up started. The Federal government, mainly through Adm. Alan, stepped in and advised against this. Nagin then publicly railed against the Feds and referred to Alan as, "the Federally app

I think everyone should read this thread as a fine example of Stardock/WC customer support in action I agree. All the Stardock folks handled my initial frustration quite well. The developer responded well and left me feeling well supported. And the problem is fixed to boot! It should be a g

Just so it is not all about an angry guy on the other end. I want to compliment and thank both Admin JafLo and Developer Lantec for trying to get somewhere with this. Especially Lantec who completely sidestepped my agitated rants and directly addressed the issue at hand. That completely re-directed my frustration and got me to concentrate on solving the problem. Very professional and good customer service. Thanks.

Sorry I can't help more....with several thousand users here, someone else may see the thread who can. You have helped plenty. Thank you very much. It may turn out to be some change at Joeuser - again - and it may turn out to be as simple as a config file getting corrupted. Or it could be a bug introdu

My 'relationship to Stardock' is specifically as Admin here on Wincustomize.com....and that entails being 'the voice of reason'.....and tend to pick up 'agitated threads' on my radar. As any good admin should. Thanks for clarifying that. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/BigSmile.gif" bor

Another alternative would be to visit the stardock IRC channel, where the developer for this particular product hangs out about 80% of the time. Thanks for the suggestion. As is the case with a great many users (both newbies and old timers-Internet since 1979-like myself) I don't use IRC anymore. It h

The NEXT procedure is to wait a reasonable length of time for your 'problem' to be tested and resolved, noting that 'reasonable length' is open to conjecture I agree. Since no problems have been responded to in the newsgroup since June and I am not the only one not getting a response via email (as sta

Just as an aside to all of this, apparently this was necessary. This is the first response to Blog Navigator problems I have seen since June. Developer Lantec has done more in the past hour than has been received in the past 3 months. It should not have had to come to this kind of agitated post by someone like me to accomplish that. I am completely satisfied with Developer Lantec's attempts to help, even asking questions makes me feel like someone care

That IS a response, ergo the thread heading That is playing with semantics. The heading stands. I have run support centers and this would be considered a customer not receiving a response to their problems and it is bad business to fall into that approach. It may very well be, and likely is, a problem

This happens immediately after the posting? If you try to access in another session or after leaving your site and returning do you still have the error? All of the above. In fact I can not open any article in any blog in a window, I can only view them in the preview pane. I only noticed this since

If you could give a descritpion of what problems your having it may be that someone here can help you out with at least a temporary fix Thanks for the helpful response. I decided to re-read the original auto-reply since the above reply makes it sound like I somehow did not do something that caused this problem with response. It says visit the related newsgroup, the one not responded to since June. It also says visit the forums, which I did with this post. And it gives a lot of links for FAQs on problems that have nothing to do with the problem or product I detailed. I see reasons why they might not respond, but this d

Yes, and I got a short note saying it was being forwarded to developers. That was 9 days ago. I am not the only one having problems getting support for BN. The newsgroup shows a void, since June. At least a note from someone who is working on it saying someone is working on it would be better than no response at all. This leaves people feeling that it is being ignored. We're not talking a small bug like the font does not look righ

I posted questions to the Blog Navigator forum and then saw it has been months since anyone has responded to questions there. I then saw other postings where people said they emailed support at Stardock about the BN issues and never got a response - of any kind. I figured I would try and see. Sure enough no reply for 2 weeks to a post to the newsgroup. An email sent to support 2 weeks ago never replied to, except the auto responder saying I
