The main source of my aggravation is having to, constantly, stop what I'm doing whenever I get enough $$$ to build a ship, find an unused shipyard, and build it. Not doing this is wasting my production capacity, and letting my opponents build ships/research tech/whatever sooner while by buildings are idling. The two obvious ways to alleviate this is the SupCom way, which might be a little overkill (and require a lot of UI work in addition to coding), and a global

Ok, finished the tutorial at the second attempt. It seems that the hint text stating 'Another trader faction has established a foothold here! Detroy it immediately!' is meant to appear as you phase jump to the third planet, this didnt happen the first time I played it. As you move the fleet out towards the edge of the gravity at the beginning of the basic gameplay tutorial I think it might be good to insert an instruction on how to group assign ships / fleets. There isnt an instruction on how to do this currently and while most of us already know how to do this from previous RTS experience other may not and its bound to be a vital tool in playing this game. Also, just after this I warped my fleet to Novalis and destroyed the pirates there .. the hint
The hint text in the tutorial is set against a semi-transparent background and is quite intrusive in its current location smack bang in the centre of the screen to the left. Am playing on 1280 x 1024 and the box is just too large and too central for my liking. I believe it would be better served being smaller and more towards the bottom of the screen and perhaps the right as the control panel on the left gets hidden behind this box and at one stage I had my fleet hidden behind it.
