Used to be anti-Steam until about 9 months ago when I tried it, decided to give it a go after Impulse got sold to Satan... er Game Stop. Now I love Steam, I don't use the social functions much just the store and game library. Don't see what the big deal for some people is, Steam isn't better than sliced bread but it isn't a Steam-ing (pun-y!) pile either.

As this is a single player game it would be fine. However the last pole was about the possibility of adding multiplayer, if that is something that is still being considered then it is a bad idea. It would split the community down the 32/64-bit line and restrict who you could play with, so long as the game is available in both formats the DLCs should be in both formats. Again this is only relevant if the idea of adding multiplayer is still on the table, if not then as I said

Thank you for the Fallen Enchantress Beta, wish I had more time to play it than I do. When we finally move from Beta to release will you be selling the game via any other distribution channels, specifically Steam? Will you make it possible for Steam users to Activate their copy on Steam after release if you do sell it on Steam?
I don't get the "swords or butter" reference. Can you elaborate on that choice a bit more?
In Economics they traditionally refer to "guns & butter" choices, Military (guns) or Civilian (butter) spending. Since this is a fantasy setting he changed guns to swords.

While Elemental has had some major growing pains at the beginning it is definitely a good game with the potential for greatness. I don't mind the stuck turns or CTD on occation as I know that will be fixed in time. My issue is with features that don't do anything wrong other than bombard me with pointlessness, in this case auto-designed troops. I like this feature as it keeps me up to date on mil

@Chibiabos Are you on a 32 or 64 bit machine and how much RAM does your GFX card have? on a 32 bit OS it is 4GB TOTAL RAM, if your GFX card has 512MB or more RAM then you were indeed out of memory. A 64bit OS eliminates that problem as it supports more memory addressing.

I agree with my fellow testers that you should take the time and get it right. I am enjoying the 1Z1 version changes to the game but still frustrated by CTD/out of memory issues that I hope will be fixed in 1Z2. Anyone who complains that the delays aren't warrented clearly hasn't been playing the eye-bleeding, hair-ripping, cry-like-a-baby Beta 1. If they were they would see that the game is great but still in need of work, mostly in bug fixes/stability issuses a

If not due to firewall apps, this issue can be resolved for some by clearing the screens folder so that it is redownloaded. Looking at your pics, even though the AI still has worlds and ships to fight with you are way out ahead of it in all categories. The AI just saw it was beat and surrendered. If this was a MP game and the other player didn't admit defeat at this point he would probably get a verbal bashing from his opponent who just wants the win and to move on to the next game. imho

I like the % on this team idea. I tend to shy away from DG online because I am a casual gamer and all the stressing this communtity does over pre-mades has me reluctant. I would definitely join the online games if I could tell at a glance that the players in this game are pre-mades and that game are not.

I agree with the OP and voidcore. I used to run OD but found it easier and less overhead intensive to just make a fence for my Dock Icons and cut OD for Fences, which I like better.

I have no idea what "Flash" is, though. Unless it's from Macromedia/Adobe.
I this case "flash" actually refers to a much older form of CMOS chip, you used to delete the data on it by "flashing" it with a UV light pulse through a clear plate on the chip. The t

One thing we should all consider is that a console is just a PC with a dumbed down interface (read Gamepad rather than keyboard), and that the capabilities of each new generation of console make them more and more PC-like, thus blurring the lines between PCs and Consoles.

I find since I am constantly trying to conquer/influence/ally with the Major Races, and they are trying to do the same with everyone else, that trade can sometimes get messy with them and the Minor Races tend to be more stable trading partners.

I have also had the Nvidia driver freeze, and yes my driver is up to date. we just need to be patient so that the Devs and Nvidia can work out a solution. I have faith in SD and Ironclad and know that a little patients is all we need. :CONGRAT:

Personally I agree with Luckmann, anyone who puts the editor on a torrent site is a numbnut. Anyone who desperately wants the editors is most likely a huge fan of this game, in which case they already have access to the editors via their purchase of the game. Therefore putting the editors on a torrent would only benefit people who didn't buy the game and most likely have no interest in creating their own content for it. Eergo there is no good reason to torrent the editors, especially given the

I was very pleased to see the ship upgrade bug was fixed in the change log for 2b so I decided to play a game and try out some of the Yor weapon techs. I had researched several weapon and defence systems an wanted to toughen up my Defender class ships so I went to the shipyard, clicked Defender-> Upgrade-> Weapons and saw my extensive list of upgraded weapons. The warmonger in me giggled like a school girl and clicked the beam weapons subtab... Nothing! Missiles tab... Nothing! Massdriver ta
