Problem solved. 10 to 1 this is where you´ve gone wrong
Do you have any evidence to back that up as all the evidence I've uncovered says they are a waste of time and money and cause more problems than they fix eg - http://www.edbott.com/weblog/2005/04/why-i-dont-use-registry-cleaners/
Windows 8 must log events such as this, have you checked your admin. tools to see what error or issue is being logged when this o

I never run registry cleaners, waste of time as far as I can see. Malware.. well I guess anything is possible but if it was malware wouldn't the problem persist after I disabled Windowblinds? I've uninstalled/reinstalled using a cleaning tool Stardock provided, didn't help. Windows 8.1 Pro (9600.winblue_gdr.131030-1505) WindowBlinds 8.02 (022 - Windows 8 Edition) - 64 bit OS Wblind.dll 20
So I've had this problem for months now, been back and forth with Stardock technical support and nothing they suggest seems to fix it. I've used Windowblinds for years and apart from one issue with UAC a few years ago I've never had any big problems with it. But at the end of my tether I've disabled it this morning as I simply cannot fix this issue. Basically what happens is my taskbar keeps locking up. By locking up I mean I click the icons and nothing happens, I can&
Think I have solved this myself, I checked under services and there's a ModernMix service, if you restart it that seems to fix the problem.
I've noticed that if ModernMix is running and an app tile crashes (closes unexpectedly) ModernMix then stops working for all my Metro/Modern tiles and I can't get it back without rebooting. Is there a way to reactivate it without actually having to reboot?
Sorry yes I'm using 64 bit. You want the image I'm using to make a texture? Any image fails for me Ive not found one that works.
Hi, I'm having a little difficulty adding custom textures to Windowblinds 8.01. I'm running Winodows 8 pro with an Nvidia GTX 770 graphics card. Here's what I'm doing, firstly I'll open up Windowblinds configuration Then I'll click on "Texture" on the right Then I click on "Create effect" at the bottom Now I get a window with Window frame, Taskbar and Start Menu texture. Under Window Frame I click "Create new from image..." Brows
I'm seeing this more and more frequently on my Windows 8 machine too.
I can see a Zip download for some of my skins (ankh for instance) but it looks like Encounter and a couple others are still tied exclusively to MyColors.
Sorry I don't really understand. When you download the theme from your Stardock account it always installs MyColors.
Hi, apologies if this has been asked before but I did search first. So I've got Windowblinds 8, and in with my Object Desktop subscription I also have a bunch of Mycolors skins, like Encounter, Gloss Burgandy etc. I tried installing these today (so Windowblinds 8 and Mycolors were on the same machine) but things did not go well. Windowblinds 8 does not see the Mycolors skins as I expected it would. Worse still, the two programs seem to conflict with each other, and Windowblinds 8
Ah good, just popped back to say it's dual monitors that seem to be causing it, if I disable monitor 2 the program behaves as expected.
Just tried MM on my laptop, the problem does not occur there, I'll see if I can figure out what I have going on on my desktop that's different.
The point of UAC was to make it possible to run as a standard (limited) user without having to switch to an administrators account to get simple little things done. Every other modern operating system has a similar mechanism. Without it, we'd be stuck in the XP days of everyone running as admin and everyone getting owned all the time because of it. It's got nothing to do with protecting you from being stupid. Metro apps do not need admin rights so they never need to interface

A reboot did not cure the problem :(
Window, on a dual monitor setup. I can make a screen cast if it helps?
Found a small bug with the PC Settings program (the one that lets you change your lock screen, privacy settings etc) Go to the Personalise section and down to "Lock screen apps". Now, click on one of the icons that lets you set an app to display on the lock screen. Instead of then popping up a list of programs for you to set, the window just flashes out of focus and does nothing.
Perfectly, if you don't like it just uninstall it. You can go back to regular mode at any time by clicking a small icon in the top right of your tile app.
This is an amazing achievement, you've given us the Windows 8 for the desktop we all wanted instead of Microsoft's touch-screen optimized "no-compromise" (pfffft!) solution. I can't wait to tell my readers all about this!
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but, the only problem I can find with MM so far is this... load an app that has left to right scrolling (most stuff for Metro), maximise the window and scroll it.. now if your mouse slips down onto the taskbar the scroll bar sort of flips back to the beginning for a moment. Small issue I know but one I thought I should point out.
That would be very useful but, well considering this thread was started 7 years ago I won't be holding my breath :)
I'm running Multiplicity 2.01 build 00030 - Windows 8 64 master Windows 7 64 slave. I'm having difficulty with the Scroll Lock toggle feature under "Mouse Switching". If I enable this feature, then mouse over to the slave, lock the slave, the mouse pointer won't move back until I press scroll lock ON (?!) After that I'll sometimes need it on, sometimes off, to transition the mouse. Eventually Multiplicity gets so confused my keyboard and mouse stops res
I'm using Firefox and I don't see anything of that nature at all. This forum is under "Home->Stardock Software->Windowblinds".
I actually don't believe that, I think that as time goes on tablets will get closer and closer in power to laptops, and having an OS that can do both jobs, along with things like detachable keyboards etc will make more and more sense. I think Microsoft have taken some miss-steps in how they have tried to marry both types of UI but with a few tweaks Windows 8 becomes a very usable and very versatile OS for either kind of PC.
