My netbook's resolution isn't supported (I didn't expect it to run) but 1024x600 should be somewhat reasonable >.> It's only 200 pixels short, and besides most games have 800x600 but if the engine will break with a wide screen resolution like that it's fine.
Generals will become tottaly useless after being killed, so where as a normal assasin hero has a 40 second cooldown the general will have a several miniute cooldown before becoming effective.
Yes but generals should be more powerful when played correctly, and thus take larger losses when they die, see this thread .

Evreything here looks good, I like the point about:
Creating obstacles and modifying the environment is a part of the gameplay I think should be considered alot during beta3.
I definetly agree

I like it, it's easy to implament at this point in time, improves on lots of bad points of generals, and to top it all off it's a comprimise, which works! I mean all they need to do is to write some quick code, add something to the UI, and make a nice particle effect. It fixes the minion worth problem, removes idols in thier current form, and makes minions worth something to evrey one.
Modding can certainly help a game that lacks longevity of its own but I think you'll find most games that end up with good modding communities are those based on solid foundations - the original game itself. And the original game is what most people are going to be forking out their cash for. The sales may still dribble in with mod support but I don't think there's near as much money in that as people seem to think there is.
Have you looked at warcraft 3 lately? At leas

The graphics have been improved yes, but they were very good anyways, you should take alook at some of the supcom screenies. But supcom also has a tendency to have some lag near the end of games, not much, mostly graphical and system lag, not net lag. Of course these games are 6 players playing on a map the size of the hawain islands with nukes, and hundreads if not thousands of units.
if the game engine could be tweaked to allow for more grunts...
The engine was made for many many units (it's based off of supcom, a game that can have thousands of units per player), it's easily doable.

They can change something like that realtively quickly, in most mods mind you it takes time, but at a place where they have multipul programmers and developers working for 8+ hours a day, they can change it easily, it is no where near too late to change something like that. It's just that they have decided to put their foot down on the issue I guess (which seems stupid to do before the 'gamplay' beta). Also in general I wasn't talking about randomized spawns, but those could be a way

Ok a couple of random thiongs to point out: Something about a bad metaphor, a 3/4 bedroom house (what the F is .75 of a bedroom house!) and 1000 owners, called a TIMESHARE FROM HELL!!!! As for the guy saying this is all "DotA" fans that want DG to be a clone, learn to A) read and B ) know what dota is and isn't. Increasing the strategic depth of a game to make it more like a RTS is leaning away from dota not towards it, as DG is now it's more DotA like than I thought it was go

While I'm disappointed by that response (though pleased that you actually read that ^), one addtional part does makes me a little worried:
I know one of the things on our list is to try to let there eventually be easy single player modding as well as multiplayer modding but that's down the line.
That already exsists, people are already making UI mods and (it looks to be) a full RPG like game out of the engine, It exsists and is realtively easy (though you have t

Well my orginal thought on generals was that they would each work a diffrent way. For example (because dota is commonly used, and is appropriate for a rough tool) take chen, brood mother, furion, and keeper of light (though KoL recently got a rework, but I'm talking about the orginal version). Each has it's own method of having units, chen steals neutrals, brood gets them from killing units with a buff on and her minions can make subsequent minions through the same buff, furion makes only one

Something else to point out, dota has been out for years and years and has had time to get all these tiny little details perfect, there was once a day when tp scrolls were picky, when the map was real simple push/pull. It has evolved, and like dota demigod will evolve with it's community over time, already things have changed drasticly, the version you played had tons and tons of flags, but there were previous versions that foucsed on very diffrent ideas. Also about the map, there are many di

Well they don't necessarily need to be activatedable, though now I see what your getting at, because they're demigod specific they're basically like skills, very good point TBO, I'm stumped by that one. Well actually your referring to items, I was talking about achievement items, though I can see the same problems arising, but not as much so, as you get one achievement item anyways, weather it allows you two more shamblers, or an additional 1000 mana doesn't really
Have you listened recently Mooey? We added more tracks.
No, because what I meant was my music skips and repeats like so: rampageing becomes: ram raam aam mpa paa paa page geing eing ing ing pageing And it does it with the music too. I have no graphics lag or similar lag. (see: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/330021 ) But when the music was coherent it did sound pretty good.

I think one or two demigod specific ACHEVIMENT items could be really cool. It would allow people who like one specific demigod som boons, perhapos require you complete 1/3, 2/3, all of the acheivements of that demigod before you could buy them.

Currently when your dead you can do nothing! Nothing at all, except check scores, kind boring really. To fix that, let people read their skill trees while dead, so they can read skills and plan what they want to buy, ditto with the citadel. Let them look at items in item shops (in both life and death) with out beeing near them. Both these features help noobs, so they can think of what theyre going to buy, and allow them to play faster. As far as acheviements go, you sho

I turn off my music, as it skips and repeats continusouly, its more annoying than enjoyable, but when I did have it on, the music sounded like it would be great if it tdidn't play the some three seconds over a period of 12 seconds. So, a jukebox option or something similar would be great.
