Ok, I've posted twcie before about exploit cheat bugs. Most of these have been resolved. However, there is an exploit that will give you as many logistic points you want and you can have an increase of up to 40% social and military production during custom character generation. The exploit works in this fashion. Simply create a custom race without any social or miltiary bonuses. Save it then reload it. Then save it again as the sa

During one of my initial games.. the AI did a flip on me and the game was over, I only had one planet and it was early on. I was a bit surprised how quick the AI was able to acocmplish this. Note: this was on the 1st release of beta 4. !! All your planet belong to us !!
I'd like to see larger maps. I know, its more overhead but gigantic doesnt seem big enough
It takes considerable amount to increase the planet quality enough to gain tiles. In cheat mode I've been able to get 100% of the tiles only with a initial Planet Quality of 500% (which is alot of clicking to do in cheat mode). Even with 120% inital Planet Quality bonus only gives you about 20 tiles.
Given some of the advanced technology that this game has in it, yeah eventually every sq. inch of a planet could be used. Oceans with underwater cities and farms, deserts with vast hydroponics, mountains with massive factories harvesting resources (Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri had city domes & farms on ocean tiles). Such technology to completely utilize a world would not be unreasonable. In literature what comes to mind is Earth (Trantor) in Isaac Asimov's series Foundation. Every inch had been
Anyone notice that even with terra techs to improve tiles.. you really dont get that many (even with all technologies discovered). I have to cheat to get all the tiles available to me. If you cant get the full amount of tiles, then whats the point of having the tiles available at all? If you only intend on having 20 tiles possible then why have more?
I bumped my post from Beta 3 but it has disappeared. The following is a way to excel your social productions on your planets. This was a problem in Beta 3 and still is in Beta 4. Every turn you are given the option to buy out a social production (such as a farms, virutal reality centers ect.). The exploit is easy but really is beneficial once you start building expensive buildings (like Omega Projects). Ok, here is how you do it. Build your social project, such as Inventio
I've can also confirm this.. keeping an eye out for some kind of common factor. Note: Much improved over beta 3.
This is still and issue in Beta4
This is still an issue in Beta 4. Able to give myself 500% planet quality bonus and other amazing powers at the beginning of the game. It gets kind out of hand.. nice to have a research bonus of 1000% ... you get all those nice features alot faster.
downloading version 95 on top of 97 build of Stardock Central does indeed fix the problem.
Yup seems small to me also.. figure a galaxy is pretty big. In the few games I've played it appeared that some of the solar systems were almost touching each other. The milkyway is suppose to a fairly large galaxy and it has an estimate of about 100 billion stars. Now i'm not suggesting that GalCiv2 have anywhere close to this, (but maybe Galciv50 could). Maybe the stars should be spread out a much further distance to give the appearance of larger galaxy. Sure its a bit more scrollin
Cloaking an option in this game. Seems the computer had it but I never had the option to cloak.
The options to show battle options are not working. I unchecked to see battle animation and still see it. Also quick battle (or whatever the option on) didn't seem to make any difference checked or unchecked. When you make adjustments to the number of background stars or nebula the adjustments dont occur until you save and reload your game.
I know this has been reported however, I've been able to repeat this process a few times and it could be beneficial. 1st what do I send the developers (save game, error logs ect) 2nd where do I send it to. Notes I tested this quite a bit last night, occured well over 40 times. It would almost happen every time a system was envaded more than once per turn. Upon clicking the turn button after such an event nothing would happen. You can still navigate
The cheat/bug/exploit works in the following manner. You will need at least one availble free tile and some cash on hand (not much 100). This method is only good to build instantly items that cost more than 100 (suchs a industry centers and other high end items which run in the 1000's) 1) Build the social item you want (bank, factory, research center ect) 2) Now build a farm or other low end item on the spare tile but go ahead and purchase it. What occ
1st: I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I'll ask again anyway. Will we have the ability to stack ships? 2nd: When you have a starbase at a resource and you want a constructor to upgrade the starbase it can be difficult to click just the starbase without getting the resources as an option. Consequently, if you do click the resource (and the option is turned on for constructors to automatically build) you can get multiple starbases at the same resource. I wasn't wa
Also seen this problem with starport being unable to be re-built if its been demolished. The option for starport is not available.
Also something intresting to note on water tiles, has anyone been able to build on them? In my "cheat mode" I've been given all tiles on the planet as available. Curious if anyone has been able to build on them in "nomal mode".
I've noticed this as well. I had 20 high end labs and only when i've saved and reloaded do they show the proper values. I had something like 29 at start and they never increased as I built the labs (couldn't figure out why I wasn't researching tech better). Then after reloaded .. bang 9000+
Also one more item: I've noticed that population fluxs once your farms hit peek production, thus so will your morale. At one point in time I had 5 billion people die once we hit the max then the population would climb and in about 5 turns we would have a mass die off again. Keep in mind 5 billion was a small percentage of my total population.
Below are the factors of my observations: Cheat enabled: Planet has a class of (30+) in which all tiles are available. I explain how to do this in another post. Researched all technology All available improvements are available (though I'm sure there will be more) Ok, now at 1st I just started loading up on farms. I had over 20 of them with all of them as ultra advanced farms (or whatever they are called). I have an insanse population growth rate which actually co
There are options to remove the auto-save and build notifications. Interested to know if there will be an option to remove other notifications such as Council Meetings (except when you actually have to vote on something) and Top Civ reports. It would be nice to be able to click the next button repeatedly without having to move the mouse around to click on notifications. Sometimes I click 100 times just waiting for research or a project to complete and the notifications become annoying. Not a
When I've obtained enough planets that are defenseless the AI will send combat ships in to take over the planet. Once they are successful the turn option is no longer available. The enter key will also not move the turn forward. I've seen similar posts reguarding issues with invasions but nothing specificly similar to the above. I've "re-created" this problem 3 times now.
I've noticed a similar problem, helps now that I've been using another method to thwart the AI.
