Im getting the same thing on my primary machine. Only I have Windows XP Pro SP2. I click on the multiplicity icon the mouse does a quick hourglass then nothing happens, no toolbar icon, no connecting, nothing. I've re-installed it as well with no luck. It worked yesterday and I haven't installed anything since then..
