@Kale - You can edit posts @Daishzen - I was tryin to be funny, I may have failed miserably I think there could be a reason its ordering you to defend planets not currently under attack. I think it has something to do with how the AI screams bloody murder everytime a scout ship passes through the

How about the following options: Option 1: I play another game totally unrealted to this called UFO:Afterlight. In that game you can turn on and off certain alerts, and change what you want to happend for each alert. Applying this technique to this game I came up with something like the follwing: For each alert you would have several options like if you want it to be a verbal warning, just or just make the little Icon for its respective report flash or even if you wa

I think the precieved imbalance is exactly what you think it is. The computer isnt forcing you to rebuild your fleets by destroying the, hence, you don't need all that metal. Try playing multiple perma-grouped AI's on hard mode then see if your still havin the same problem.

What is actually happening is an advanced AI ploy. They want you send your fleet all over creation so that their secret ally can come bomb your homeworld... so yea, it's a "feature"

Imagine my suprise when I looked at the hotfix notes and saw this: Research now makes upgrade progress on the first subject in the queue that is not stalled by lack of artifact ownership, lab tier requirements or any other reason. *Does a little dance O' joy* Thanks guys, you made my whole week. Going to do some testing!

I don't really like pirate system much at all. The idea of bounties isn't bad though. At 215k, im tempted to find out where you live and start clubbin ya on the head for credits myself. At some point the computer should take a look at that bounty and decide to collect it himself. That is what is supposed to happen. The system itself is not so bad, its the AI that needs some work.

I'm feeling kind of...um... neglected... Can anyone confirm this as a real bug or did I waste a couple hours testing a "feature"?

Bug update #3 Ok I came up with 2 more tests while writing the last report, I was able to complete one, but the other one requires a bit more play time and I wont have time to complete it before I have to go to work. Completed test: 1. Built second station 2. Set it to scuttle. 3. Queued 2 tier 2 techs. 4. It blew, no research completed. 5. Rebuilt the station 6. All research resumed and completed without a problem. So, final result restate

Bug update #2 Ok, so I wanted to try one more thing, just to make sure it is really and truly broken. 1. Built second research station 2. Started to scuttle station 3. Queued techs in this order 2,2,1,2,1 4. Station blew before first tech completed. 5. Cancelled the first 2 tier 2's 6. First tier one completed, then reasearch halted again. 7. Killed last tier 2. 8. Final tech finished without a problem. So the final result of my tests are t

Bug update #1 Ok, I checked out what would happen if a research station was destroyed in the middle of researching a tech that required that station in order to access that tier. Basically, I built a second station, queued a bunch of tier 2 tech, then some tier 1 after it. When the research station was scuttled, it froze the research on the tier 2 tech, no research could be done until I canceled ALL the tier 2 techs queued before the first tier 1. Once I had done that, it started res

First let me start by saying the organizational structure of this forum and the developer feedback are awesome. Please keep up the good work! Now for what you entered the thread for. Let me set the stage: Single star, me and one other empire remaining, he is my ally. I have agreed to all the diplomacy options except for Intel. He won't share that. Of course, I had to turn on him because I don't like sharing my star with anyone. As I am wreaking havoc on his worlds I notic

You can't colonize planets and expect to keep them if they are under strong enemy culture. This is working as intended. You have to counter it by either taking out his culture centers and/or out culturing him. If you could defeat it by using colony ships (as per the suggestion) then people will just leave colony ships around as "culture shields" instead of using culture. I agree, the values may need some tweaking. <br

Well give it a shot if you have time. I did not realize that the dreadlords were just as hard either way. I can't say I like that. Seems a bit a off. I hope the new campaign will not contain anything similar, because thats just silly. Thanks for all your help. I will give it another go. I might be good enough to defeat the AI on Normal. To the team of GCII, I know you regularly listen to customer comments by the changes you have made in other forum comments. I love the g

Well that is completly bass ackwords. If I am on beginner, the computer should help me more not less. I may try your suggestion today or tommorrow. I am a bit frustrated right now. On regular games I have no trouble because my opponents are the same level as I am. The DLs are just stupid powerful.

I can't beat this mission even on beginner. I tried the swarms of tiny ships approach. It doesnt work. Even with 5 ships I cant kill him and he has no armor. I cant get past II or III on missle or mass driver tech before getting swarmed. Either this mission is impossible with the latest patch or I am just a complete idiot.
