Even after all these years you can still get Winstep Xtreme again for the reduced renewal price - you don’t need to buy a new license. Just email Winstep Support with the details of your original registration and I’ll sort it out for you. Let’s put the pricing in its proper context. Winstep Xtreme costs less than a single modern game , yet - unlike a game - it isn’t something yo
Oh one other thing. I did reinstall Winstep and it works ok. It's version 22.7.
v22.7 is nearly 4 years old. Since then I've released v23.11, v24.4, v25.2, v25.6, v25.7, v25.9, v26.1 and I am just about to release v26.3. They’re all packed with new features - definitely worth checking out, especially if you are on Windows 11. On the v2

Ohhhhh boy.... Many eons ago (until November 2009) the skinning settings and normal application settings co-existed with each other in the same UI (last version that supported this was v9.5). The problem was that less than 1% of users make themes and the skinning options for the rest of them would only add to the clutter of what is already a very busy interface (because Winstep Xtreme is so powerful and flexible, it has a ton of options and settings). So, when I decided to com

Hmm, both the METAR (for current conditions) and the MSN (current conditions + 5 day forecast) feeds are still working for the Winstep weather module. RainMeter is probably using a Weather.com feed and that is normally behind a paywall. Weather feeds have been a real headache. The Winstep weather module originally supported NOAA (METAR), Google, Yahoo, Weather.com, and MSN for redundancy, but one by one those services were either shut down or moved behind paywalls, leavin

I only have one more thing to say about this since this is now apparently turning into a dramatic soap opera: everything I wrote is 100% true and this matter was NEVER private since the exchange of messages between me, Picco and the moderator was public and is still there in the Winstep forums for anyone with a pair of eyes to see. I will, however, refrain from posting the link here. Some people like secrecy, I love sunshine. It disinfects everything.

I also have a multi-monitor system here and I d

One thing is something that happens consistently, quite another something that only happens at random and/or very rarely. Since you also use RainMeter and xWidget I am pretty sure you already know what happens when a feed goe

I fully encourage users to play with the settings to figure out all that the Winstep application can do (and that is a good part of the fun) but at the same time I also advise them to backup their current stable configuration first (Preferences -> Advanced tab -> Backup button) lest they back themselves up (no

Well, the Winstep forum's moderator opinions about WindowBlinds and themes are his own personal opinions and I have no control over them. I understand he can be pretty harsh at times too, make no mistake - he is very different from me in that respect. This said he has been a great help in keeping the forums in working order and I can only thank him for that. As for Windows 11, there was a point there in which Winstep apps were 100% compatible with Windows 11, but then Microsoft starte

FYI: the Shelves, Drawers and Grid Stacks (which are all variations of the same thing) are compatible with themes for ObjectDock tabbed docks. Click HERE to figure out how to apply a theme from a 3rd party dock. Winstep skinning module is an old alpha that has not been worked on for years, it can only skin Nexus docks.

I only found out about Steve's passing today when Seth told me about it via IM. Steve (aka WebGizmos) was a prolific Winstep skinner for many years and we used to talk quite a bit back in the time. I considered him a friend (and I think he did the same regarding me), but, as so many times it happens, life eventually got in the way and I ended up losing contact with him (although he sometimes still left funny comments on my Facebook page lol). It was with shock and great sadnes

Hi Sean, rjv4! :) Rjv4, I'm Jorge from Winstep and Sean asked me to step in to see if I could help. Nexus Ultimate is not 'touch aware', that is, it has no code specifically designed to handle touch screens and/or input by touch. As such, it relies solely on 'translations' between touch and mouse input made by Windows itself (e.g.; one tap = left mouse button click). Given Microsoft's current track record of constantly making 'under the hood' changes to Windows and tha

Neil (Banfield), want to work with me to figure out why this is happening? It really shouldn't, at first sight there is nothing special about that particular window - other than auto-redraw being true so the slider controls do not flicker when moving them and the window being sub-classed so the slider controls do not automatically paint the opaque 'gray' window background. But then, many other Winstep dialogs do this as well, without any side effects when using WindowFX.</
