They're not really getting rid of Internet Explorer. They're just rebranding it. Despite the "lipstick on IE" comment, you can rest assured that's all they're really doing. They know that Internet Explorer has a stigma to it that most people tend to avoid, and now they want to distance themselves from that stigma. A new name, a new look, and a few new features usually go a long way toward doing that for most people.

I don't think MS will ever be customization-focused. They know people like to change the UI to their favorite color or whatever, and apply different wallpaper. Beyond that, I highly doubt they really care. I also don't think they purposefully "hard code" anything in some kind of grand scheme to thwart customization. I wonder if this can be safely used to kill the shell32.dll file so that it can be replaced... Sure, you're not SUPPOSED to mess with it, but those icons sure are ugly! [e digicons]:thumbsdown:[/e] The only luck I've had with replacing that particular file is by booting into my Linux installation, mounting my Windows drive, and replacing the file from there. That's less than ideal, though.

This looks decent enough, but I tend to avoid Sci-Fi shows in general. They're really cheesy. The last ones I've actually enjoyed were Firefly and Stargate SG1.
