The Korx start out evil in DA as well. I think that's working as designed.

The GNN is correct, it mentions when a planet's social queue is empty, but I'm not always getting the icon on the lower right corner of the screen to go to a planet with an empty queue. If desired, I could try to reproduce it.
This reminds me of a related question I've had for a while: Let's say I play the Terrans in one game and choose various abilities for them. After that, I start a new game and choose a different race. Will the AI Terrans use the abilities I chose in the previous game or is there a default set of abilities for each race that the AI will use? If I've never played a race and there are ability points unspent, the AI will, I hope, spend them, right?
I think most of the native techs are just there to set up the tech trees.
I understand what you're saying, but the thing is, A History of Mercantalism doesn't set anything up, it doesn't unlock anything, it's just a brief history of the Korx sitting there doing nothing. If you look at the Terran tree, we have A History of Extremes, which similarly gives a (very brief) history of the Terrans, but also unlocks Market Center. Personally, I think they probab
It seems odd that one or two of the races start with a native tech (such as A History of Mercantilism for the Korx) that conveys NO benefits whatsoever. A research cost and it can't be traded but it doesn't do anything? Will this be corrected in a future beta release? Also, for the Korx, it feels VERY odd that the mercantile race par excellence starts without a market center.
I'm having this happen too. It seems that if you have the miner autopilot right into the asteroid field it won't start building, but if you autopilot to one square away and then move it manually onto the field, it will.
If you search by class wont all the uninhabitable planets (class 0) be at the bottom.
Not in DA, at any rate. You can have a class 26 world, just as an example, which would appear at or near the top of the list that you can't colonize because it's toxic and you haven't researched toxic colonization yet.
I have a rediculous question, what screen are you guys talking about? I didnt know there was a planet list somewhere.
The list that comes up on the screen when you press F1 or F2. F1 brings up a ship list, F2 brings up a planet list which you can sort various ways. [Edit: this is in DA, I don't know what's available in DL or TA.]
He knows that, I think. What I believe he's saying is that in addition to "class," there's a "habitable" heading you can click to, only this one functions contrary to expectation. What I would expect if I click on unowned and then select habitable is for all the planets I can currently colonize (preferably further sorted by size) to move to the top of the list. What you get instead, as best I can make out, is a grouping of planets by type -- i.e., first all the unowned radioac
A small gripe, but it's a bit irritating: If you play Fullscreen, the game can be minimized but it won't "tidy up" -- reset brightness, etc. Also, getting back into the game sometimes causes a crash. If you play in windowed mode, the game won't crash, but it also won't minimize. You can Alt-Tab to other open windows, but there's no way to get to your desktop, which I often want to do. I have to entirely quit the game to get there. As I say, a small gripe, but most p
Thanks for the replies! For #2, it turned out that I had to check "Move Camera to selected colony in colonies list" in Options before the map would move (it's unchecked by default). My bad, I should have looked for something in Options first. Regarding #3, what I was looking for was a way to set the rally point of produced ships from the colonies screen on a colony-by-colony basis, but I suppose this really isn't necessary and setting a rally point for a whole class of ships f
Ok, nevermind #2. I discovered an option that makes the map scroll to a planet when you select it on the list. Anyone for 1 or 3?
Hi all. In a large galaxy, I find I do a lot of my colony management from the colonies screen under the Civilization Manager. I have a few questions about it though: 1. All the way to the left in the first column are what look like little planet icons. Not all my colonies will have them though. What is the significance of these? 2. Is there any way to go to the colony (on the main map) from the colonies screen? I.e., double clicking just takes you into the planet managemen
Ahem. Troll.
DA, v1.80f test 2. When you design a ship and then decide you don't like the design and delete it and create a new one with the same hull size and same name, the game will still use the picture of the old (deleted) design instead of the new one. The stats will be correct, but the picture will be wrong.
Hi, rank newbie here, been playing only a day or two, loving it so far. Got a couple more questions if that's ok. 1) I read somewhere that there's a way to send a ship (say, a colony ship) to a planet without having to select the ship and then hunt for the planet on the main screen. Something to do with F1 and F2, but I can't get it to work: when I select a planet and then go to select a ship, the planet gets unselected. Could someone please explain this in detail so I don't mess it
Hi all. Never played any of the GalCivs before, now I'm trying DA. Got a couple of questions if that's ok. 1. Suddenly my scouts are moving 3 spaces a turn, despite the fact that they used to move two spaces and their design says 2 spaces. Why is that? 2. I really don't get the economy yet. I gather all my income comes from population, right? If I build a farm, does that make the population grow faster or does it just increase the max pop you can have on that planet? Also
I also have been crashing a lot when Alt-Tabbing out of the game. [Edit: However, for me, going into Windowed mode seems to have fixed the problem.]
