Dear people, here is an idea. I am currently enjoying 1.3 but have noted that there are quite a few people preferring 1.2 over 1.3. I have noticed a number who feel the game has just got longer becuase of the greater difficulty in getting the game going. Howse about this for dark avatar: An option at the initial game set up: SlowGame/NormalGame/FastGAme/SuperFast Game. All that the option does is modify the amount of income from tax. eg fast game doubles the income and s

I havn't played a strategy game since reach for the stars. In my first ever game of galciv (normal, gigantic, abundant, 9 opponents), my empire had the biggest economy and population...easy. Now on 1.3 (normal, gigantic, abundant, 9 opponents), I get bankrupted with the old tactics. You now have to balance expansion, development and research in the early game. This is an interesting challenge, cheers
I was perfectly happy with 1.2, but sounds like 1.3 will be even better cheers
Hi Just wondering if anyone could tell me how to set up a rally point. The Wiki says you do it via the main screen, but I cant seem to set a rally point. Cheers
Recently bought this game (because of the ongoing patches, AI improvements), and I think it is very good, currently playing on normal which means the AI is a "stubbie short of a sixpack" as I understand. Can anyone give me an idea of what the different weapons are like? eg beam: cheap to research but low damage and well blocked by all defense types(esp shield). eg missile: expensive to research, high damage , hard to defend against(only point defense works). eg mass: very ch
I like the ideas. I agree that the colony rush is not "broken", it is fun as is. A Slow colonisation Setup Option might make some of the early game planet development mix in with the midgame militarisation. yeah you can probably already set up the game to slow down the rush a bit. Small colonies (100M) and limited range sound like good and simple ideas (the simpler the better so AI can cope). you would have to wait for colonies at the edge of your empire became big enough to co
I recently bought the game ("and loving it") after reading the forums and seeing that people are still enjoying this after months of play, and seeing that the developers are committed to improving AI and diplomacy. The only viable early game strategy seems to be colony rush. How about a setup option for slow/normal/fast colonisation? 1.Slow colonisation. The initial coloniser can only reach planets in your home sector. To move 500million people further afield takes a ve
