[quote]Now, creating items that are FOR specific Demigods... THAT would be better. "Can only be used by" has potential. Gloves that make the Torch Bearer attack with multiple slightly weaker fireballs/iceballs rather than a single one, or that make his fireballs multiple slightly weaker ones that can launch against simultaneous targets and that makes his iceballs impart slowness of movement, or that adds a burst radius to his projectiles... . Items that enhance a user (a positive)

Thanks for the Update Froggy, and nice to hear that the mill is rolling in GPA about how the players feel about certain areas of the game. The idea of the rings is interesting, but also questionable at the same time - for as Annatar stated, you offered a very vague example that didn't do much to inform us on what is intended. So, we're left to basically fill in the blanks based on our own experiences with the game. So far we're seen Demigods purely develop th
Tabula Rasa had a lot of potential, the only good would come of taking it over would be to be able to build new game elements to it. It lacked a lot of really solid 'fun' factor. It's a game that could work great for Mechs for instance, but nothing was given to the players. Last I played it, they screwed up the cooperative element, thats when I got bored of the game. I'm not sure if they fixed that, but the whoile 'never ending battle via same exact spawn zones' does feel pretty darn scripted
As I've played this build, I couldn't help but notice on some of the instances in which I was capturing an enemy flag that claimed a portal - I'd block the flow of units. So I decided to try it on purpose, this time with my own main base Portal at the start of the game. If you stand in the right spot, you will block 100% of the army flow 100% of the time. You dam up the units, and can hold them back for one major, huge push against the enemy! It was so funny, I took half a dozen screen shots
These are just simple observations. :) Not exactly too focused about -how- to balance the class, I'm more into just stating how the game is at the moment. So I wouldn't say this is a discussion of balance, it's showing we're trying to see how the game plays outside the spectrum of the mighty Unclean Beast.
I'll pass the word the along.
I mentioned the Warpstone yes, but in hindsight I was mainly discussing both Demigods on a basis without items. Even the Rook AI has to buy items which slow down enemy Demigod just so they can keep scoring hits - which say a lot already.
In addition to my prior post, the Rook is very Item Dependant in this build. Yes, he can be very effective with items as I pointed out above. A solid build would have to be the use of Deathbringer + Warpstone + Stun. But, surely there is a way to counter this as well, perhaps when Deathbringing is used against him instead, because that item shuts down Demigods for waaaaaaaaay too long. 15 seconds or so feels like forever when you're in a solo match, once that thing is cast on you, there is no
Today I played a few games, trying to give the Rook some love. My biggest issue with him, that when faced up against another player, he has no real useful abilities. Certainly he can take down the AI no problem, and with large amount of armor items and various other things he can be a mean guy. But when you take away the damage modify weapons from the equation, and have him face up against Demigods like Tourch Bearer - he simply can not compete. A Tourch Bearer player can use Fro
A Rare bug, this is the third time this has happened during the game. I've noticed the AI trapped on the Crystal for the remainder of the game after they teleported back to the base. Did you guys even read all of my post? No one is mentioning the element of player choice I wanted to focus on, this was not a topic about making TB a General only. Please read the entire first post.
As I have found myself watching Ganetrailers on Generals, I look at them and I realize that some of the Generals look as though they'd be better of Assassins, and when I look at the present Assassins I think some of them are better of Generals. But what if you, the player had the option to choose whether or not your Demigod could be an Assassin or General? Let's look at the Tourch Bearer for example and reasoning. Tourch Bearer is completely overshadowed by this General,
I've discovered that the graphics on Buildings, Demigods, and Grunts become corrupted when played on Medium and Low Setting, with the Game Option of Fog of War turning Off . Down below are example of this in screen capture, and below that are my computer specs. I've tried this on the Mine Map, however it seems to only apply to Atlantis so I do not think it is a computer performance issue. <img src="http://
Yes Champ, we play online all the time. But you have to speak with people on IRC to work on playing a game, just hosting and looking for one at random won't get any turn out.
Recently, I've played a game where I went up against an Unclean Beast who could deal 1500 Damage per hit due to Gloves and Artifacts. In order to counter this, I filled my inventory with lots of expensive and artifact Armor, including All Father Ring. In the end, I had 9000 armor, but I could not stop him from defeating me. In a one versus one stand off, the high damage Demigod always came out in the end, having only reduced his 1500dmg to 500 (Which is still very high). Clearly, there needs
Ooze takes away from health, this is working as intended. :)
No doubt the best update for Demigod yet. A grand, massive new map with solid, epic music and the ability to adjust the flow of incoming enemy units makes for some truly enjoyable gameplay. Though the update comes with it's problems, I'll make some pointers below at what I feel needs to be addressed while it is fresh on my mind. Unclean Beast needs a larger Auto-Attack range. Items are great, but perhaps too great? Grunts useless
I've discovered that while playing the Mine Map, the Demigod is unable to attack or correctly path to enemy structures that are directly adjacent to it. I've managed to repeat this bug several times, and only best occurs when the Demigod is standing next to a tower just like in the image above. When standing there, the Hero will not attack the tower, it will a
Best Update yet, thanks. ^^
Oh Goody, I assume we'll be seeing Oak in this next build? I can only assume the build I saw being played on Gamespy is the same we'll be getting soon - if so, looking forward to it. Oak looks like fun.
Demigod Generals What would I like to see? Vast Tech Tree with Several Different sections including Skills, Monsters, Fortifications, and Enhancements. Area Effect Control over Naturally Spawning Creeps Ability to Generate & Summon Beasts in your Area Effect and through Portal at will, but dependant on Cost. Generals can not wear or use Armor, Items, or Artifacts

Looking good, I hope to be able to take part in this sometime this weekend.
Hmm, the idea of a mod is nice but I likely won't pick this up for two reasons. A) Teleport Scrolls cost too much. B) Most changes to the Bearer are for his Fire Build. All that was done for ice was change the stun duration. Doesn't do well for Ice Build Tourchers, because there is nothing there to compensate for this - such as increases damaged to Nova or other spells. I'm dissapointed in seeing so little done to improve the class. He needs range increase and a few others thi
