Oh so I cant just open up the .png file in photo shop K, well looks like im going to have to get pro, its worth it

How do I open up the .desktop file to edit the image? I want to change the image to a difrent text so I can have it say my own thing but everytime I try to open the .desktop file it wants to load the skin.
