intel pentium D 2.8G 1gb DDR2 250gb HD Nvida inno-3d 6800gs logitech G5 mouse (my favourite bit ) AOC flat pannel

ive got a logitech g5 mouse and ive set the tilt wheel to a key stroke e.g left on wheel is 1 on keypad. but ive found that in game this function doesnt work sometimes. it had me confused for days as to why it worked sometimes and not others but then i discovered that it was xfire which has been causing my problems. when turned on it somehow disables what ive set my mouse buttons to do. does anybody know how to fix this cos its REALLY annoying and hampers gameplay considerably. pls po
