The only thing I'd like to know is why in the heck it's so hard to be good? The movement on the alignment slider is infinitesimal when you choose the good option, pretty good sized if neutral (and you're alignment is near or in good), and catastrophically huge when the evil choice is made. Even from the get-go, when aligment is "0." I don't go for the whole B.S. about it's so easy to be evil crap either. That's hypocrisy at its finest. Individuals find it easy to be evil but civilizations

Point to Kanaric. I'd forgotten about that. But is the game using the influence border as the mark of your territory? I think so but I'm too certain. I still support the idea of political boundaries though. I should considering the dissertation I made earlier
Thanks for the info, mikeswi. Will give it a try and see what's what.
with 25 billion population planets, 4-5 moral boosters, Okay, now I gotta ask this. I get a planet with 25 population centers and the rotten little cretins drop their moral to 50% or less even when I have built nothing but morale boosters. I check the morale tool tip and it shows that, while the negatives for population have grow
Only one custom race per game, I believe. Sucks huh?
Get ADD, you'll get it in no time.
Are you playing a high enough difficulty that the AI will switch up weapons when they get pasted by your early game weapon choices?
I have to agree with Whismerhill. In my current game, I found not one, not two, but four 700 bonus tiles on my first five planets and bought factories for all of them. All of a sudden, my economy was going downhill in a hurry, losing 375 bc per turn less than 50 turns into the game. I simply shut those planets down (they had already built everything I assigned to them) and watched my economy recover for a few turns. Then, when I started getting money back (thank you to anomalies and high pop
You said "In the development journals, we talked about the goal of having the "intelligent" AI being able to beat 95% of players." Bravo. AI =6, me = 0. I'm not that good a player yet, granted but so far I've been thoroughly spanked everytime. Hopefully, I'll get the me = 1 before the AI gets the AI = 19. So far, it's not looking to good.
Actually, I prefer a complete deletion of the GGB. It's a good idea but anomaly hunting is over pretty quickly even on a gigantic map, as Liberesio so kindly pointed out. It would be okay if anomalies re-appeared like in GC but as far as I've seen, they don't so that eliminates the need for the GGB. Just my two cents which is about all I'm worth.
I'm not sure what version you're playing but in the last game I played, I was playing good and the Drengin, Drath, Iconia AND the Alteran's ALL declared war on me and all within about six month's of each other. And being attacked is a common thing for me. The AI knows the difference between suicide and a good fight. I've had a high powered civ and nobody would come near me, but then I started in a perfect position and got everything right. In every other game, I've had declarations of war at
Just a note: Don't buy from Mitrosoft. It is a money-leaching force of nature from which there is no escape (and it does, now that I think about it, sound REALLY familiar). Leases will kill your economy faster than anything else in the game. If you buy, buy direct. Plus, economy works only because the people are creating it. I've read alot that people don't bother too much with farms and entertainment to raise population. But this is critical. More people, more taxes, simple as that. Sm
Absolutely positively completely undeniably true that! I only have one gripe. Sleep seems to have become something I know nothing about thanks to you guys!! Keep it up!
Of course, there is the other factor that I've noticed in a large map game. I had a logistics rating of 15, had built 25 starbases (many of them influence based, sneaky ole me!) and my price for another starbase was at 2045. Now, in the same game, the Iconians, who were about equal to me in strength across the board (which wasn't that great) had 71 starbases!!! And that was just inside my area of sight which was about a third of the galaxy (wonderful thing those Eyes of the Universe mixed wit
