Good things in AoW that were better in FE:LH 1. Graphics style 2. Optimization 3. Multiplayer 4. Minimum range for ranged attacks 5. LOS attack penalty 6. Flank bonus 7. Superior Charge bonus 8. Opportunity Strike 9. No unit order in combat 10. Vastly more interesting Siege battles 11. Multiple Group combat engagements. 12. More interesting decisions for conquest 13. Units gain more th

Man... Polished looking graphics and multiplayer. Things that FE so dearly lacked. (not saying that FE doesn't have its perks like customization). Sigh...
A weird thing I've noticed is when the fleet has a fleet within it...
Hvae you disabled the crossfire setup? It appears to be ill supported by the game currently
Yes, tried it, my framerates drop from 40 to 30 when bloom is on but AO is off
Found a post by the forum guy "Fate"; EDIT: IF ANYONE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE RUNNING AN AMD/ATI UPDATING TO BETA DRIVERS FIXED IT
Just tried that, the GPu usage went up slightly, however frame rate didn't change :(
ATI cards have been having trouble running this game, so it's not just you. This is, I'm assuming, a compatibility issue. Try updating your drivers
I updated my drivers, no frame rate change on all settings.

Instead of having the events trigger upon first colonization, why not have the events trigger on specific tiles? Say there is an event on tile 2,2, if the colony is built on tile 2,2, then trigger the event. Or if the player develops tile 2,2, trigger the event. You can also play around with the tile descriptions a bit by giving hints that there might be something about tile 2,2. With this system, you can also implement proximity triggers,
Or starbases. Nor upgrades/changes.
My specs: Intel Core i7 940 @ 3.8 Ghz 2X ATI 5830 HDs stock clock in crossfire 8GB DDR3 @ 1333 Mhz rest is trivial. Game setup: Tiny, Midgame, 2 factions, ~20 ships My performance: Ambient Occlusion, Bloom on, 2X AA, 1920X1080: 25 fps Zoomed out video cards usages: 79% + 15%, 30 fps zoomed in, video cards usages: 84% + 0-15% Ambient Occlusion Off, Bloom on, 2X AA, 1920X1080: 40 fps zoomed out video cards usages: 85% + 25%
1st 1 being the naming convention for the different ship models, makes zero sense whatsoever. 2nd being the AI is completely broken(I know it's an alpha thing, just notifying you)
Well, not sure about the design choice here, but if you attack a planet with more men than they have in terms of population, it is obviously you'd wipe the floor with them. Planets are unlikely to have everyone alive fighting for them. At best 10%.
Intel Core I7 940 14GB DDR3 1333 MHz Ram 5830 HD X2 Crossfire. All settings on highest, Ambient Occlusion Off = 40-50 FPS Ambient Occlusion On = 20-25 FPS. Disappointing to be frank if performance stays this way.
It might be that some points to the class are attributed to the bonus tiles. I.e. class 10, 9 tiles + 1 bonus effect. I could be wrong though.
Somewhat related: I see the numbers are white when you are in the positive, and they turn to yellow when it goes negative. But it was somewhat hard to notice the difference on my system at least. Not saying they need to go all the way green and red, but perhaps the differentiation could be increased? The vertical movement of the ships disturbs me... Maybe have a setting that shows a smooth movement? Anyways, the video is rather very limited in actual gameplay.
I have a suggestion after I saw the planet screen. Why not have a simplified, fast paced Risk type game(unit replenishment for defenders, reinforcements for invaders if any) when you invade?
I agree with OP. It would add a nice RPG element to the game with admirals (similar to whats in the total war series). Although, I don't think governing is necessary, however traits that enhance the fleet in different ways, and acquired through actions, quests, etc would be certainly interesting.
