You may be right Sellore - however I would be comparing it to GC2 - like XwerewolfX - I have played over 500 hours of that and am still playing and enjoying it in version 2.20 I own at least 5 copies of GC2 including the boxed ones. And I would rather invest my time playing something I enjoy than enduring something i don't. I went through that (about 200 hours total ) to give both Stardrive 1 and 2 a chance and felt both were hopelessly broken. ( I know t

I bought the game November 14, 2014. I've also bought 2 expansions. Despite this I have never loaded up the game because what I read from people I respect such as XwerewolfX and Icemania, I will not enjoy the game in it's present form. Like werewolf I have great respect for Stardock and buy almost everything you put out. For this game however I am glad I am not a founder and I now have 3 expansion packs to buy Precursor, map pack, and mercenaries. &nbs
he actually didn't say it Tony Curtis and all the rest did
Kryo - Just to be clear I liked both the metaverse and altmeta - but since the metaverse has not functioned for the past year and a half or so it seems it stopped the altmeta from working as well. However as crushbone said I also thank you for your efforts. Bruce ( I'm Spartacus on Steam )
This is from the steam forums Brad and makes sense to me as well - comment from you? At first I thought you were saying "Why don't people just make AI better instead of giving it bonuses?" and wrote 5 paragraphs about it not being that simple. Then I realized you meant the reason more people don't play at high levels is precisely because we're not given better AI to pla
Frogboy could you please answer this for Icemania and my information Icemania 2 hours ago <a class="forum_comment_action report" title="Report this post for inappropriate content. Reported
I'm Spartacus Just now (this refers to the GC3 thread on Steam) <img src="http://steamcommunity-a.akamaihd.net/public/images/skin_1/notification_icon_trash
I posted in this originally in the Steam forum but am posting it here as well as I don't want to take shots at Brad behind his back. " so theres no reason it shouldnt have been done already you feel? " Yes and as aJynks and Ice are debating - this does not even remotely strike me as the AI not being capable of. It's just making the right priorites - and seems to just have been missed and never corrected in both instances on GC2.</span
Yeah Ice - I figured you'd know from evil Spock and the Stardrive reference - my Omega777 ID is from 2006 when I first appeared here after buying GC1 and 2. However I'd guess the farther the game progresses the harder it is to have any kind of relevant AI as the variables increase expodentially. I have got to find the time to try Distant Worlds -and then your modifications - owned it now for about a year without even trying. Of course I've owned Sins of a s
Ice - I did not make this clear but in saying the AI bumbles around in circles and can't win late game - I was referring to just about any war / or / 4x or civ style game and not to GC2 specifically. About 10 yeas ago in designing a scenario for Carriers at War using their construction set I got a taste of what designing an AI involved - this is in a static map of the south pacific in WWII for Aircraft carriers for those unfamiliar. ( an Australian company SSI who you are probably
Hi Icemaniaa and Brad or Frogboy Well I certainly want as good AI as Brad can create, my past experience with almost all games AI except the ones Brad designed himself like GC2, and a few exceptions like MOO2 are that the AI is usually nothing but a hidden set of advantages and boosts for the AI. I mean basicly the AI with a large enough advantage can stop you from winning with all it's production ships / armies etc. but it can't win the game itself as late g
10 years and 3 days after the original post it would be nice if the Metaverse was actually working regardless of the exact scoring of it.
Actually, what we're in the process of doing is creating a way for users to hook up their Steam accounts and their Stardock accounts. In doing so, we can make sure those who became founders get additional perks.
Frogboy Brad - while they are at it could you have somebody fix the metaverse for
Yes with their astute marketing ablilities Gamestop managed to take Impulse from my Numero Uno place to buy games under Stardock to a place I totally ignore in less than two years. The best marketing campaign I have ever seen since New Coke and the Ford Edsel.
Thank you for the reply Loupdinour I have two other questions that my post brought up. None of my medals displayed. Is there anything I have to do to correct that? And how do you get Karma? By posting to the forums? Thanks again.
Something I'm not clear on if anyone knows. I've been logging in to the metaverse before I start a game. I tend to play for a couple of hours then stop and come back later. I have been logging in to the metaverse again each time before loading game. Is this required or will it count game once you have logged in the first time. Thanks for the clarification anyone.
