You don't seem to understand the technical requirements of finding an optimal orientation to balance offense and defense. To do that accurately means taking every ship in weapons range and testing a wide variety of possible orientations/positions for ideal damage input and output. That is NOT a trivial search, even once optimization has been done. To repeat that for every ship on any kind of consistent basis would be a huge task for the CPU, since it would be an O(n^2) time sea

Does nobody have a solution? Did I post this in the wrong forum or something?
Jourdain, does North Korea deserve "equal and impartial" relations as compared to, say, France? Poland? Despite their history of belligerence, threats, way, oppression of their own people, economic and social disaster, and pursuit of technologies which could conceivably begin a nuclear war? It's entirely possible to judge two parties impartially and still find one to be more noble, rational, reasonable, etc. By all means, don't approach diplomacy with pre-concieved bias, but that's no
Isn't pancreatic cancer one of the worst possible cancers you can get? I'd say that it's good that the megalomaniacle, unstable, autocratic threat to everyone and everything around him is on his way out, but I've got to worry that having a terminal cancer is going to do bad things to ol' Kim's already ample supply of crazy. The nutty bastard might try to take everyone else out with him and launch a nuke somewhere that'll make all the fingers on the red button a little twitch
Well, THAT was overly optimistic! I was playing Entrenchment until 11:30 last night, but now when I try to start it up today the same symptoms appear. I'm not going to be reinstalling the thing every time I play a game! Anyone have an idea what the hell is going on here?
I uninstalled SoaSE and Entrenchment, deleted Documents and Settings\(my username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games, and then reinstalled SoaSE and Entrenchment. Everything appears to work normally now.
The type of functionality you're talking about has never been done, but someone DID do a "dynamic battles" mod that looks really sweet. Basically, the fighter AI was applied to most frigates and cruisers, causing a big, chaotic battle with everything moving all the time. Do a search for "Dynamic battle" on the boards, and it should show up. My guess as to why this is a difficult thing to implement is that it would also heavily complicate the combat. Sins is a strategy focused
Does anyone know what causes this problem, and how it can be resolved?
...if that was anything other than business as usual for those countries you might actually have a point.
When I attempt to start up SoaSE: Entrenchment the window pops up, presents a black screen, and immediately gives a minidump message. Several second later, the program crashes and the "do you want to send a report to microsoft" dialog appears. Entrenchment worked without a hitch before, but has not behaved properly since I installed the 1.03 patch. Regular SoaSE exhibits the same behaviour (also fully patched, and previously worked). I uninstalled both and then reinstalled both via im
I've heard almost nothing out of Iran in the last few days. Is that because I'm missing it, or is there actually nothing to report now?
Holy crap is the cynicism ever thick here today.
"Once the protesters have somehow beaten the guards"? That's awful optimistic. I wish the best for the Iranian people, but knowing the kind of brutality they're up against and the kind of disruption the regime is targeting at them... it almost seems like too much to hope for. Sure, they pulled it off 30 years, but I have trouble seeing that happening without the military stepping in to assist. I don't know. I'm still pretty shaken from those pictures and videos. I don't think I've bee
You know, before I even laid eyes on this thread I knew the situation was bad, but I hadn't realized that it was REALLY bad. And now I've gone on to follow threads like this (warning: VERY disturbing images in there)... and I'm thoroughly shaken. I have no idea how accurate that all is, but I can't help but feel... chilled, looking at that stuff. My god, those bastards are brutal sons of bitches. I hope the Irania
Doesn't seem very wise of them to be playing to the cameras while their own house burns down around them.
I think they don't believe they can rely on the army to shoot Iranians on command.
Apparently Obama bluntly condemned the crackdown in Iran recently, instead of merely being "troubled". Even brought up the allegations of election fraud. About damn time. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Obama+condemns+Iranian+crackdown+protests/1724807/story.html
Naw, that's more of a "generic nutcase" habit. I wonder if he has a tin-foil hat, too.
If I saw that kind of mob bearing down on me, I'd tail it too!
I read today that Mousavi is "prepared for Martyrdom" or somesuch, and that there was a suicide bombing at a major revolutionary monument that killed three other people. I suspect things are going to get ugly shortly.
Let the revolutionary guards take over?
I don't know a whole lot about Moussavi. What do you think the chances are that he'll take the risk?
Yeah, I don't see it either. I can't see a tangible benefit for Israel to be constantly in conflict with everyone else around them. Yes, they're militarily dominant, but that's a natural consequence of being surrounded by enemies: you need to be able to match all of them if you intend to survive. That kind of military dominance isn't particularily valuable if everyone were to become friendly... it's just a money sink that you don't need so much anymore. If Israel had less enemies, I can't see
Lula, 100K - 400K years ago the ancestors of humans looked like this and/or this . Both species have sufficient fossils to count as evidence. That fossil record traces even further back than that, but there you have it: clearly humanoid skeletons that are geographically connected to us, but are older and demonstrate clearly differing traits from any humans alive toda
Truly? They changed the official results afterwards because they realized that they looked like total tools? Huh! I take it back, I AM going to laugh at them. Idiots. Do you have a source for the original results? I haven't been able to find it, they were apparently quite quick to change everything up before anyone looked too closely.
