well I for one enjoy good story driven games like for example "Farenheit : The Indigo Prophecy" or "Hitman : Blood Money" or "Bioshock" but galciv2 while being OK at it, does not stand out for its story ... (in my humble opinion) probably because it lacks better videos and voice acting to really put the player IN the game story

well Endless Universe is a standalone of the two expansion packs that is : Dark Avatar & Twilight of the Arnor, it also gets the original Dread Lords campaign and is just missing the Dread lords engine if you ever wanted to play in the original dread lords rules & feature set Ultimate Edition has it all except, currently it is not possible to update it to 2.x because it seems the original deal between distributor and stardock was that the distributor wou
the "limit" is just your maximum trade route limit meaning if you can do 9 trade routes, then you can do 9 trade routes between these two worlds
yeah I read your post a while ago, it's nice thank you for providing a direct link I reread it again and somehow I forgot some things and by the way I'll probably choose a custom race with thalan tech tree because the thalan race abilities & super power means that they are just kicking themselves in the foot 1st their super ability allows them to construct factories faster which is useful for the beginning and middle of the game BUT they don't have any factory to start wit
strange I thought galciv2 protection was only for updates ..
trade in galciv2 is just a way to have diplomacy bonuses with other races trade revenues aren't worth enough to warrant the investment in trade modules for economy starbases ...
I don't know if this is related to memory but since you mentioned it : if you're using 64bits Vista you might want to check out that thread for expanding galciv2 memory limits beyond 2GB <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterPosts_ctl07__PostTitle" title=
ha ! good idea of taking advantage of miners ! I often overlook that part of the equation [e digicons][/e]
I don't have any problem accessing the "my Posts" button from either forums.stardock.com and forums.galciv2.com what homepage are you talking about ? maybe it would be just limited to your forum account ? [e digicons]:S[/e]
I just had a look recently at the thalan tech tree and thought I would like a piece of it [e digicons][/e] but .... since I like very slow technology settings I find the beginning might be quite difficult since you need no less than 800+500+150+50+25 = 1525 research points (to be multiplied with the very slow modifier) to get the first industries ... so I wondered .... is there any specific strategy for playing with thalans in this kind of setup ? <
this page will answer all those questions : https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty_level
Hi! Five days ago archiving function in Impulse didn't work correctly. AFAIK so far you're stuck with either: - trusting Stardock to survive until you'll want a game again , or - with burning the whole game folder (or ZIP) on the DVD and OFC checking the copy from the DVD to the hard disk works. BR, Iztok
might want to check out creating registry .REG fil
yes you can play sandbox games and there's many parameters to tweak like : number of planets, number of habitable planets, number of stars, stars distribution, size of map, technology rate.... and much more like being able to customize your opponents and if that's not enough, the game is moddable although a few parameters are still hardcoded
look at the first post in this thread https://forums.stardock.com/332877 it should fix it. there's currently an issue with the game installation
I did have everything out to Drengin.net there just isn't a GalCiv2 there. (it made no difference to add it and the language/english keys either) The note from the dev said to also look for GalCiv2UL but that also isn't there. I do realize that I wouldn't be able to just import someone elses reg keys I just needed them as a blueprint to use to reconstruct my own version. I posted a request on another forum an
I don't experience this problem with movies updated to 1.0.0.17
It sounded similar to me. When you start the game and the opening cinema ends the game immediatly crashes. If it's different I'm sorry. It just happens to you on DA and DL. It happens to me on ToA.
I'm just around trying to help, I don't have any problem myself ;) And don't feel sorry, it was just an advice try what kryo said in this thread https://forums.stardock.com/332807
[e digicons]:omg:[/e] really ? seems rather strange I don't have SP3 on my main computers just on some virtual machines as I don't like to rush with updates without knowing what I'm getting into
The colony expansion rush is my favorite part as well. There's tons of strategy there: grab the distant but juicy class 16 you may not be able to protect (or even reach before somone beats you to it), or claim the nearby class 7 before someone else does and you have to share your system with them? But if you don't like it, there are some ways to make it more convenient. Colony ships won't search out colonizable
population doesn't influence production at all and the base homeworld colony is like a big fat research industry farm, all in one while other planet base colonies have less of all
flash 10 fixed some longstanding sound related issues the issue was that on video sites with some of the videos(not all of them) (like youtube for example) the sound would not play at all on some systems, then after a few seconds and because of that absence of sound, the video itself would get stopped and unable to go any further. this is just to say, that flash 10 isn't 100% bad ...
from my standpoint, it doesn't seem like the same issue so you might want to describe what happens to you in more details or create a brand new thread for the sake of clarity... your choice
I guess I'll go try adding/renaming regkeys in the hope that I'll find the right things to change/add. I do not have the regkeys that are mentioned here. Could someone please post the whole section of regkeys so that I can try reconstructing what I should have?
hum... I saw you have windows xp home from your posted debug.err It seems strange that you have no registry keys at all, could be a wid
only advice I can give is : -if you give ships to an AI, move them closer to their planets/influence first -don't know about rangers
