You would be surprised how many game programmers DON'T have Comp Sci degrees, or for that matter, programmers in general. Not saying you shouldn't get your degree, no no, you should....but if you have one, it can generally only help. You're better bet is to start learning DirectX/OpenGL in your free time, as well as polishing up on your advanced trig and maybe even some calculus.
