It is a good post indeed. I agree with having a more varied terrain which can be exploited to aid or hinder different races, thus making each civ more unique. However, I realize that in the expansion, SD will add asteroid fields. I'd like to see how that goes before asking for too much too early. Also, speaking of the infrequent special events. I recall many players have asked for a frequency control at the start of the game. I do not think it would be too hard to code and it w

Or, have the tech and the ability to keep no military untill someone war-dec's you then pop out one of your most powerfull ships from every planet. I did that in my most recent game. I think the AI shit their pants the turn after the started fighting me. Or even better, you build lots of cheap ships, then, as soon as someone declares war on you, you u

Say to yourself: "It isn't an earth week. The United Planets declared that the Galactic Week would be the equivalent of 2 x 10^16 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom at rest at a temperature of zero K." LOL. Science for the win. Also, don't

The proplem is, I think, is that even a Gigantic map cannot convey the immensity of the entier galaxy. I always saw the maps as portions of the Galaxy. Imagine you're conquering a nano Galaxy.

Oh wow, I really really like that idea. It would be so fun actually having a map that actually resembles a galaxy. I fully support this idea 100%.

I would suggest not downloading 1.3beta, it's full of bugs and sh-ts all the fun out of the game. Wait till the full 1.3 comes out, but that's just my opinion.

I never had problem keeping my people happy. For every farm I build, there's 2 morale boosting building. I usually keep my taxes at 80% that way and my approval stays at around 95%+. I remember having a planet with a +300% population tile. I dropped a farm on it, built 8 virtual reality centers and filled the rest with stock markets. I think that planet gave me 600bc+ per turn.

Human sucks, you get no free bonuses and have no stellar cartography. Shut yo mouth, traitor, human is worth playing with just because you get to play as humans. It feels good to beat a tough AI when you're human since you start with almost no techs.

"Make a thing that can sense the passing of time live long enough and eventually it'll become totally alien to us and its actions seemingly evil and cruel -- to us." That is so totally true. This summer I've been working nightshift at the government's printing room and 80% of the time is spent on waiting for the end of the shift. Heck, I'm at "work" right now waiting for it to end. I'm gonna turn mad very soon.

Damn people, there's a thing called paragraphing you know. But, to answer your question prophetau2006, I can beat a tough AI relatively easily. You just need to play more on lower difficulties and improve your strategy. I think it's better to learn by your own than following other's advice. It's more satisfying. Stupid Drengins.
