Quoting GW Swicord, reply 14 If a feature like this were to make certain wonders so powerful that any strategy worth its salt involves building them first (or at all), that is a balance problem that needs to be fixed.
This is one example why Wonders should be an optional feature.

Rhishisikk... most of those are good questions, but a laundry list of questions is very unlikely to be answered since the reply would take 30+ minutes. I recommend 2 or 3 questions at most within a post.

The suggestion of weather is a great idea and should probably be included as one of the optional features. I suggest optional since some may consider unpredictable weather and natural events as unbalanced or its possible a specific weather event scenario may be bugged. The weather can include rain storms, droughts, heat waves, snow storms, and high winds which can provide bonuses and penalties from eve
Just curious--why would you want to disable 'wonders?' The only frustrations they've ever caused me in other TBS games is when another civ builds one that I want badly (good frustration) or when they don't quite work as advertised (bad frustration).
Having them as an option purely allows them to exist for those who want them. This allows gamers "the option" of playing the game without wonders whe

If retreating is available then multiple penalities should be associated such as: 1) When the retreat option is chosen 20% of all units must remain on the battlefield until the very end to provide a buffer so retreating units can escape. 2) Any units which have retreated should suffer a morale penalty of some kind. <span style="font-size

The Wonders Feature would be appreciated, but it should be a game option where players could enable/disable the feature.

Gamespot still has this listed as a Real Time Strategy game... I emailed them long ago about the error, yet no change. Does someone know an individual at GameSpot who can correct this mistake OR perhaps Stardock may want to contact them.

I have a Wii... but no console version should be considered otherwise it will slow the games development progress and testing progress not to mention decrease the amount of available options.
In terms of the beta, all users who pre-order have access to the beta program. But we are looking to have a private Beta 0 or pre-beta or late alpha or something available before the beta program begins that will largely go to users with high karma / have GalCiv II / Sins / Demigod so that we can make sure the first beta works. There's a lot of new tech going into this that we will need some outside testing with.
I would prefer a TBS battle option as well, but a RTS battle system could work if it's designed the same as what was provided within the original Stronghold game which included a game speed slider. This game speed slider would slow the battles to such a degree anyone could control the individual actions of 100+ units during an important battle! On the same note... when needed the battle could be speeded allowing it to finish more quickly.
All those are pretty fantastic creatures, and not really your run-of-the-mill troops. Magical creatures and such are supposedly very rare and considered special - thus to my understanding very much above average.
That doesn't answer the question and my question is for STARDOCK : Will units will do more than just X damage in
I don't think we're going to get into that kind of detail with regards to units. Remember, these are just units. These aren't your heroes. A weapon does X damage in Y time is likely as complex as it would get.
Hopefully some units will do more than just X damage in Y time during a battle. What about battle skills
Oh, one other thing. We're not just "toying" with a 64-bit version. We absolutely will have a 64-bit version. Both versions on the same disk.
HOOORAY !! This is really state of the art designing, thinking and planning. Kudos to you! I've seen so many games where the map size limitation prevented me from experiencing a life size world game. Even today only Dominions_3(with patches) and Civilization_4

After plenty of reading I've recognized this game will have great depth. I wanted to quickly advise that many of the game settings should be an option where the gamers may choose which major settings/features are enabled/disabled. For example... let's say the game was to include a major feature such as "Surrendering". Where troops would automatically flee when greatly outnumbered thus preventing any battle and the gamer could do nothing.

The suggested Random Item Formula can be included along with Fixed items and Set items. Obviously I have not described the differences between having ONLY fixed items compared with including a Random Item Formula. Fixed Items: Grendals Axe Stats: 5 damage; +2fire; +1piercing Grendals Shield Stats: 8 Protection; +10% fire resistance Randomly Generated Items: Grendals {Fire} Axe

A weather system is a big project to include within the game, if it's not currently planned I doubt it could be included.
