I still don't understand the mentality of people that that say they've lost all confidence and will never play the game again etc and then still waste their time posting on that games forums. It's always puzzled me. Anyway, I'm still playing and still enjoying it. So hats off to stardock, they've not hidden their timeline from us and kept us informed. I'm looking forward to the 2.0 release, which I think is more than anyone could ask for. So, to sum it up: Hooray for stardock,

I usually try and research Space Militarization quite quickly. Then until the population is up a bit the only thing I build on most planets is a Recruitment center. This has the 2 benefits of giving 20% population growth and 10% to your economy which is nothing to sneeze at especially when the building is relatively cheap. Once the planet population is up and bringing in the cash then I start building. of course I'm not a geat player and don't play on the hard levels, so others may have

Is anyone else seeing the ship in the very bottom corner square of the map? It seems to be in every game I've had on 2 different machines. It doesn't move or otherwise interact in any way. The only thing I noticed was a dip in performance when I went down that way. I'm running the latest version of twilight and I also completely removed the beta before re-installing. It's a bit odd but not a real problem.

I get the McAfee Security center 2007 free with my O2 broadband. However it's a bit of a system hog. I want my Nod32 back that was the best I've ever had but unfortunately with getting the McAfee for free I just can't justify it. DANG IT!

I don't like that pirates event! I was playing a medium map in TA last night when they arrived. Nearly all my ships, stations and trade routes gone after a few turns. My best ships had virtualy no effect against them, and I was the most powerfull civ, so Iguess everyone else got a real kicking as well. It was lucky that I still got a diplomatic victory a few turns later, still it almost made me cry to see it all destroyed so quickly. I guess next time I'll have to invest in militar

@Durikkan: Same here, I don't have time to do online anymore. Any game I buy has to be good in single player. I've never played Sins online and probably never will which is much the same with any game I buy.

I'd also like a slower setting. Maybe not quite five times slower though, I was thinking more in the lines of a half or maybe quarter of current speed. I don't see pausing as a real option as that breaks the immersion factor. I still feel that ships travel too fast while in system.

What about play by e-mail multiplayer option? I admit it could take a while to play a game but you could at least take your time with ship design etc.
