My question is: Did Stardock make a mistake and include activation by accident or was it intentional all along and that was one of their bugs that they fixed? If it was required all along, where was this mentioned on the web site? I know it may be in the ula, butg that does no good AFTER you bought the product. Returns are not likely. I am not sure what is going on now. I downloaded and bought the box set. I got the box set so I was not forced to "activate" a few years and computers from now. Well, after uninstalling the download and loading my CD (and update) It still asks me to activate. Is this because I downloaded or is it in the CD too? Very confusing.

Yean this game is coming off. I just don't like activation. I run XP embedded and do not use a single product that requires activation. Got burned over that in the past.

My reasons for buying the box set was to AVOID internet activation. I don't mind entering the serial number for what I thought was my CD, but why do I have to enter a serial number AND activate. Do you folks know what some people go through after buying a program then replacing the computer or components and not being to activate either cause the company went bust, they supposidly exceeded the activation count, or don't have inet access?
