I am not sure what is going on now. I downloaded and bought the box set. I got the box set so I was not forced to "activate" a few years and computers from now. Well, after uninstalling the download and loading my CD (and update) It still asks me to activate. Is this because I downloaded or is it in the CD too? Very confusing.
Yean this game is coming off. I just don't like activation. I run XP embedded and do not use a single product that requires activation. Got burned over that in the past.
My reasons for buying the box set was to AVOID internet activation. I don't mind entering the serial number for what I thought was my CD, but why do I have to enter a serial number AND activate. Do you folks know what some people go through after buying a program then replacing the computer or components and not being to activate either cause the company went bust, they supposidly exceeded the activation count, or don't have inet access?
