during the beta, we had that mechanic for a while (battle consumes all remaining movement points) but there were lots of complaints about that system, so eventually the devs restored the old system of multiple attacks per season. i think two of the main arguments were being unable to loot a lair after you defeated the guardians (thus you could sometimes lose the liar when an AI army happened to be close enough and could just steal your loot),

The AI is incompetent. It's pretty clear. They are told to build a crapload of cities as fast as possible with little thought for defense or infrastructure. As I've said in reviews prior to the expansion and will say again, this game dies after you've explored a bit and killed all the monsters. There is really very little reason to play once you're down to other AI empires as you've already won at that point-- i

Why are armies, with movement points left, allowed to fight multiple battles each turn? If you have a stack of doom with a number of +1 movement bonuses (4-5 moves per turn), you can clear half a map along roads. To me, this seems a bit too powerful. IMO once you fight, you should be out of moves. Or at least not be able to engage in combat again that turn.
It may not have been a bug. There is a perk for either not getting attacked by monsters at all, or an other for less likely.
Then it's an exploit and shouldn't count toward wildlands. It makes his empire virtually indestructible when he has this epic creature and other high level crap ganking anyone else who comes near him. All he has to do is plant a few cities in there and he has a virtual

I got jobbed in my game with this wildland. Another civ was able to enter it and settle it without ever getting ganked by any of the creatures, who instead ganked me every time I entered. That and some other significant bugs have forced me to put this game on hold for awhile.

Having now played a dozen or so hours, I've had fun but also have continuously experienced crashes and instability in addition to some clear bugs. In fact, I'll be waiting for a few patches before continuing. I'd also like to know why the computer civs get such a blatant advantage when it comes to wildlands? So Resolyn(sp?) and I happen to enter the cursed swamp at the same time, but of course everything goes after me. In a

Regardless of Steam autopatch, the fact is that the game ran flawlessly before 1.1, and now none of my saves will load. Is there any fix to this that doesn't include reinstalling the game?
I'm not sure of a cause, but I never crashed until 1.1. And it has crashed 8 times tonight. Pretty much every time I've tried to load a game. I tried my old games 4 times before I figured that 1.1 must not be compatible with games from older versions. I've also crashed 4 more times trying to load new games. I haven't seen anyone else say anything though... so that makes me a bit afraid that it might just

I have almost 40 games in my Steam library, all have been auto-patched, yet none have been made unplayable due to one. ...until now. Most game companies test their patches before they release them.

So according to Steam I've got 18 hours into it (paid full price, $40). As an experienced Civ, GalCiv, etc fan, I generally play very conservatively at first-- build a few cities, then build infrastructure, then expand again. About 10 hours into my first game (large, random world with 5 other players on "Easy" until I got the hang of it) I finally got diplomatic ties with my first civ. Despite handicapped algorithims, apparently, this civ was 3 times my power, earning 3

Biased, but honest. It's a good sign that there's so much support for it, which is quite the opposite of my experience visiting shortly after WOM's release. Someone above mentioned XCOM, which I just finished and loved, so I think we're on the same page here. Will dl from Steam now. Thanks again!
