I wasnt whining about it. You really need to learn the definition of what constitutes whining.
My bad, I must have lumped you in with the people who have been whining about there not being a demo released before the game, despite developers stating why they chose to do a post-release demo. Interpret my post as a more general post to that issue rather than you specifically.
I guess most of us learned a lesson today, never pre-order from stardock 1-5 days before release
Why? I'm downloading mine at the blazing fast speed of 5-45kbps...god I hate my school connection.
While I don't necessarily agree with the pirates methods, I don't see what the big deal is if pirates are limited to Singleplayer skirmishes anyways. Some pirates might even buy the game anyways. It's not like we've had any demo of the game yet.
1.) Since when is a pre-release demo necessary? It's not, so quit whining about that. There's already been a plethora of open feedback thanks to the betas, and if you're really up in the
Order direct from Stardock ftw.
Please...5kb-45kb here...on a T1 connection...in NY. ... Of course I'm on a throttled school connection, so it's blazing fast for me :P EDIT: Woah...138kb for 1/2 a second there...jeepers creepers batman!

That would be my guess, yes.
8800 gtx, meh. the gt is nearly as fast and so much cheaper it's not funny. if you really want to be that fast, grab the gts, it's faster than the gtx Um, since when is the GTS faster than the GTX?
They're not, but they are nearly identical in performance up to the >24" resolutions, and considering the price...win! (proud owner of OC'd eVGA 8800GTS 512 :P)
Hell, eets and I would talk online via Steam before my school blocked EVERY port but 80. I just have to wait until December, and then I graduate.....
Haha, graduate in May...which will make up for this POS connection my school has. God how I hate indiscriminate blocked ports.
Nope, you can control z-axis movement...but it's not going to make a difference apparently. And z-axis is *very* important in a space-sim/space strat. game, simply look at say HW vs. SotS (horrible game btw).
That's awesome that you even made the effort. Looking forward to the read :)
The regular box and collector's edition box both come with a nice big 80 page manual. Only the digital download copy only comes with a pdf.
Blair, is the printed manual just the printed .pdf, or does it contain additional content. Also, does the .pdf contain more than just basics, such as lore/backstory? I ask because to this day Dynamix's Starsiege shipped with one of the best manual/background compendiums I have ever s
Developer double post! Screenshot for posterity!!!
I seem to have missed where a demo is somehow a requirement for a game release... Last I checked, post-release demos have been an equally viable market strategy. Considering IC/SD's emphasis on quality, support, and releasing *finished* products (something other developers/publishers should take note on), I'm not at all surprised with the decision to have a post-release demo. If you really want the game now, you'll shell out for it. If it's something you're iffy on, then you'
Why, why, WHY did I read through this thread? The horror! Oh, and do I count as a lurker if I have followed since the betas but haven't made a single post until 2 days ago?
Would be awesome PR...not to mention amusing ^.^ Be even better if there were team voice recordings (I have no idea how you all go about VoIP). I would also like to see a 5 v Multi :d
Since when does an Amazon.com preorder date (re: they want you to buy it through them) = OFFICIAL release date?

I have had the same problem on and off with all three versions of Galciv2 (original flava', DA, and TA); I'm not able to reproduce it though, it seems to be random...
Hmmm, in DA I remember the default ethical alignment of the Korath Clan was at the extreme side of evil (as it should be). Personally, I'd rather see the Korx at about a hair to the right (evil) of neutral. Right now they sit at "1" on the alignment scale, which makes no sense personally, as it puts them as even more evil than the Yor (25).
Yep, Central has it, downloading now (yay)
I really like this idea. Not because of the tech tree but because of the main map potential.
Seconded, would be immensely useful on [snicker] immense maps.
Currently using my first built computer; jumped right in and changed heatsinks, overclocked, a little of everything. Never will I go back, as not only am I getting a better price/performance ratio, but the damn thing looks nicer, is more reliable (quality components), and, most importantly of all, it was damn fun to build.
Frankly a lot of the problems with new games running slowly have less to do with the s
Yay! One more race to crush!
