My local EB Games called, said my pre-ordered GC2 is in. It is NOT the Collectors Edition, the clerk (who I know) is very certain about this. It's just the plain box just like their web page shows. So much for saying how all pre-orders would be Collectors Editions. I can't blame them, their page specifically shows the plain box. Oh, and no bonus "printed tech tree" either, he says they didn't get any customer bonuses for GC2 .

Sounds like you have a shortcut to GCII in your Startup program group. To check, right click on the Start button, then select "Open" from the context menu. Double-click to open the "Programs" folder, then double-click the "Startup" folder. If you do have a GC2 shortcut there you can just drag it to the desktop or delete it if you already have one there. If there isn't one there, repeat above but instead of clicking "Open", instead select "Open all users". Good luck!

This has been reported over one the GalCivII Bug forum as well. To avoid it till the game is patched, make sure all popup windows are closed before opening the ship designer. Not known if this is a guaranteed fix or just wishful thinking, but so far it has worked.

Someone over at Octopus Overlords say that they called their local EBGames and the clerk said that the EB warehouse never got any game copies in on Tuesday so there were none to ship. Anyone know if the warehouse got stock today?

I placed everything I wanted (hull, weapons, shields, engine...) and was at 27/28 space usage. I en

Yes, there appears to be a CTD when using the ship designer and selecting buttons in an unexpected order. I had that happen yesterday one time but then never re-occurred with more uses. I suggest that until an upgrade is posted you always use CNTL+S to quicksave your game before going into ship designer.

"If you bought the retail version, none of this applies as you already have a CD and you can make backups of that as you will, same license restrictions." If I do have the retail version, how do I make backups of any updates issued through SDC? Is there a way to burn just the updates to a separate CD, so I don't have to zip up the whole game to move it to my laptop?

I'm getting this message: "The serial number you have entered is not valid, or has not been activated. Please try again or contact support." It's the serial number I had Stardock Central send me. And I also used the one from the original Email they sent me, and I also used the one that Stardock Central displays when I selected my GC2 games registration info

Please advise.
