Okay, I figured it out. I checked on the properties on each of the executables and found a whole lot more options in Vista than in previous Windows versions. Included in these options is a choice to emulate XP-SP2 or 2000, so I selected 2000. On the next tab are options to allow read and write access. By default a newly installed program does not have write permission and therefore can't save a game. Once the options are adjusted with full permissions and XP or 2

The error is on startup. Right after the initial AP menu starts to load an MS Windows box pops up and says "gcloader.exe has stopped working" and the only option listed is to close the program. AP wont run at all. Galciv I will run from the executable, but games can't be saved (no error, it just doesn't save the game) How would downloading from Impulse help? Also, I don't know much about Vista. With many other programs it keeps asking for permission to

I just received a new computer that is running Vista. Even though they are old I still play Gal Civ I and AP. So far I can not get them to run under Vista. Any ideas on how to get them to run? Thanks!
