As mentioned above, one bad apple spoils the whole fruit tray. Happens in other games too, mainly Civ4. The fact you are often dropped probably means you are the bad apple. Host has the option to drop any player while they are lagging!
I've already explained that I can play literally any other online game (rts or otherwise), some have hosting problems, but I can always reliably join games. And while I do drop alot from games (maybe 1/2 of the time), other people drop

First of all, let me first say that I love Sins, and I am not exaggerating when I say that it is the most engrossing RTS I have ever played. The Single Player is decent, but Sins really shines in multiplayer, and that is what makes the multiplayer lag issues all the more annoying. I am on a college network, and I have no control over which ports are open. I am perfectly willing to concede that I probably will never be able to host a game (until I get a new ISP). What real
There are numerous ways to beat spam fleets. Most of the time, people who complain about spammers are simply not as good at managing their economy as their opponent, who is thus able to "spam" (outproduce) their opponent. Luckily for you, there are atleast a few counters available for any time of spam. You can also outmicro your opponent with cap ship abilities if your fleet is close enough in strength to his. Stop whining and start practicing :)
lol...i'll take the neccessary step of adding the /sarcasm tag for anyone who missed that :)
And I'm pretty sure that the recently named Nintendo Wii could handle a number of PC-style RTS and TBS games just fine. Granted, not GalCiv2, which can't even fit in 2GB worth of memory, let alone the 88MB in the Wii. For console developers, memory leaks and memory fragmentation are a stop-shipment bugs, not "Oh, we'll release a patch sometime and fix it," bugs. <
Brad, I was wondering if you guys could come up with some kind of automated system to report torrent files of galciv2. I love you guys enough that i'd be willing to check the torrent sites every week or so.
I often find that it is difficult to decide on what tech to go for...maybe you could have a tutorial explaining in more detail what the different paths of the tech tree will do for your civ on a wider basis than just new upgrades and techs available. Also, managing the sliders that control how much production goes to military/research/improvements is often difficutl. Is it better to jerk the bar up and down, or to leave it pretty similar? Mainly, I
I have a Pentium M 1.6 gghz, 512 Ram, and crappy Intel "extreme" graphics. Now, I'm pretty sure the game will run ok, but I was wondering if I can hope on getting any sort of anti aliasing. Because galciv takes quite an ugliness hit if theres no AA
I am in the same boat, with a laptop at school and a computer with a superior graphics card at home without an internet connection ( well actually it has one but its dodgy wireless and it would be nearly impossible to download huge files like galciv2). Can anyone be more detailed about exactly how to do this?
Couldn't find them anywhere, and i've downloaded all the files that you can get in the preload.
Hi, i'm trying to install the beta on my other computer. I purchased the game before the beta cutoff and it works fine on my laptop, but when I try downloading it on my desktop it wont work. Is it because the beta isn't available anymore ? I did preorder before the cutoff.
