Is there a manual or list of unit/tech changes beyond that went beyond just adding xtra levels to the old techs?
yup what I'm trying to figure out is why the ringworld is generating so much income since the tooltip stats arent very much different from my other planets.
is there a breakdown of what has changed with the races somewhere?
thx for the fix Craig. Any idea how i can figure out what kind of planet the ring world if modifying ? Maybe the income is coming from there
The population of the ring world shows up on the tooltip at 5000..I have a Hyperion world with 6500 pop that doesn't make anywhere near the income. The tooltip for ringwold only claims to increase the pop by 2000. I was hoping that there was an overall setting for number of asteroids so i didnt have to go through all the planets and changes them individually. Keep up the good work
You doing a wonderful service for gamers friend thanks. And your response time throughout the history of development has been impressive. I'm not a modder but I know how to use notepad..is there a line or file that set the max number of metal/crystal nodes for all the planets ? In regards to the ringworld..I had another planet that statistically was similar in bonus quality to the ring world but it produced mathematically expected results. Is there something about the ring
I'm sure in balancing the mod that list already exists so i doubt it would be much work to publish it. For example - I didnt even know(and still dont really) about the replicators replicating ability until i started browsing the early pages of this thread. Even doing as you suggest you can miss things. I couldnt find the reason for the ring world's massive income (153 total empire with 8 or so other nice large planets, 147 of that was ring world) but i did note that the toolti
I've only played one medium size game thus far..and I do like alot of the additions..but I found that as the Trade Alliance I was making way way way too much money to the point where money and resources didnt mean anything. Now I noticed the ring world provided several times the amount of income as all my worlds put together..that my be unbalancing...and I also noticed that most planets came with 5-6+ metal/crystal nodes...I think there were too many. Also would it be possible to pu
pretty kools stuff..but far too many wings on spacecraft...those things would be shredder by micro meteor impacts and the like. In space you dont need wings or symmetry since there isnt any air flow or drag unless you are traveling for super long periods.
I havent used this mod yet but the Stardock devs should be embarrassed and ashamed at the condition they released this product in. Every dollar they get should be forwarded to people like you who are doing their work for them. There has got to be a copyright law somewhere that grants ownership to anyone who takes a broken product that has been abandoned and makes it work. So with this mod do I need to make any changes myself to the raceconfig or in game personality sett
Here is a better description from one player who has put out a mod to fix this..I havnt tried it yet myself.. [quote who="Tolmekian" reply="7" id="2896411"] The AIPersonality refers to the actual AI used. Twilight has four AIPs that the major races use, one for the minors, and one for the Dread Lords. Of the four major AIPs, two are broken and one is flawed, in my opinion. That leaves only one to work with, though now that this mod is out I plan to see if
Yay someone is working on this! How are you editing the tech trees and whatnot for the individual races? I guess elemental and that MMO arnt the only thing Stardock released totally broken. Wonder how far back the trail goes for Mr "Gamers Bill of Rights" aka Fraudster.
I was wondering when we can expect stardock to complete this game and provide functional AI for the computer races? Its been repeatedly pointed out since 2009 that certain races dont function since Twilight. If this game had been abandoned can the devs please provide information as to how to edit the computer ais and what each "personality" does.
Its not bad so much as it is broken. Since the devs are hiding their heads in the sand I'll try to explain. There are 4 backbone AIs for main races with are further tweaked to fit that particular races characteristics. 2 of those backbone AI are dysfunctional. One doesnt expand and the other doesnt build on planets under certain circumstances. Of the two remaining functional AIs one is extremely aggressive in colonization and the other is economic. It leads to rather repetitive predictabl
Dont buy this product. Stardock has known about the crippled AI's in Twilight of the Arnor since 2009 and has done nothing about it. Yet another gaming company trying to squeeze a few extra bucks out of an abandoned product.
respectfully that answer is not useful or insightful. you'd make a great politician though :) Would it be possible to get a more detailed breakdown of what the current AI personalities do in order to make the best of things until you do decide to work on this problem which you've know about for 3 years now?
any chance we can get a reply on the galciv 2 board please ?
I've read 7 and 10 have defects and I've seen 7 repeatedly fail to thrive so I'm wanting to change the races with 7 to 8 or 11 depending on their culture...what file in what directory does one make these changes ? I went into the raceconfig file in twilight/data/english and now in the game the races all list their personality as "generic". Did I fail?
What file should we be going in to mod these race personalities ? Does Korath from 7 to 8 stop them from using spore ships? I modded the raceconfig file and now in game it says all races are using "generic" under AI personality. what did I do wrong ?
Bumb..any news ? Will there be another update addressing the AI personality issues other people have mentioned in this post ?
Since updating to the most recent patch I have been experiencing the lack of AI expansion refered to in several posts on these forums. Certain AIS handle their tech much better than others. The Terrans in particular seem to expand extremely well while the Dregin, Torian and Yor do not. I noticed that the last update was in 2009. Is there any plans to address these known issues ?
I guess somewhere between the original ToA release and the most recent patch they added back in the race spying UI I remember from DA. Now that I have the most recent patch the spying interface is similar to the previous Galciv2 releases.
