Personally I loved SE4. It's a magnificent game, a true classic in the genre. SE5 will be out in July I believe and as far as I can see it will have even more depth than GCII! I'm sure SEV will be as stellar as GCII.

You guys continue to BE YOURSELVES and way to go for your innovatory "piracy policy". There will always be this certain influential commercial lobby that will vehemntly try to discredit your not only fair but also highly intelligent way of dealing with the problem of piracy. Believe it or not but you are juts at the very moment making history with your firm policy of treating the users as real valuable and cherished customers, not like custo
DEFINITELY agree about the GalCiv II box. It doesn't live up to the graphical standards set by GalCiv I's box. However it seems that CE of GalCiv II has much nicer box than the original, yet I must say if there is one thing you didn't manage to top in GalCiv II it's the box. LOL!
Excellent news, Frogboy! It's exciting to follow the game's exposure/sales in the world or at least in NA. Way to go, truly! And I only hope Stardock will remain as faithful to its customers as it was before the game became such huge commercial success. And I'll say it once again: This is only the begi9nning!, GalCiv II is on fire!
MOO2 is a truly classic and I believe Stardock knows very well that borrowing ideas from this classic would not be bad at all for the GC series. Borrowing the tech tree idea would be AMAZING. It would totally fit into the GCII concept of deep gameplay. Also being able to make proposals to the council like in Sid's Alpha Centauri would totally extend the diplomatic aspect of the game. We need more of some diplomacy extending featu
9.0 is on-point. GCIII will be 9.5, guys so don't complain, LOL! Looking forward to see more of the major web magazines giving props to this magnificent game.
Glad to hear it and thank you for the update, Frogboy! I have a feeling that all this is only the beginning. Once the major game sites and magazines have reviewed GCII it will experience another strong commercial push. Not to mention the adverts... Let's only hope it'll be successful in the EU as well!
Allgame.com rated the game 4,5/5 but posted no review yet.
How about an alarm clock a la MOOIII? Would be extremely helpful.
Hmm...does anybody else get the 416 error while trying to download the bonus pack and the desktop theme? EDIT. Working fine now.
Yes, let the appreciation flow. They do deserve it all the way to Jerusalem!
Well I will not say I can rate the game as a whole cuzz I have only played it once as of now but what I can actually say is that you see from the first welcome screen on that there was some SERIOUS love put into this game which is nice, really nice. It doesn't feel mechanical or way too bombastic - the menus, the sounds, the graphics fit elegantly into the whole concept. I was also astonished how good the game looks like playing it on my high resolutio
Definitely, definitely, definitely YES! It does matter. Low end hardware is just an expression as I think to put all the good things about low-end-hardware aside and forget them, yes, even put them down in a kind of way. I mean if something works well - why bother upgrading? I am so glad Stardock took some time and made GalCiv II low-end-hardware friendly cuzz the truth is IF other game developers would make the effort to optimize their behemoth titles
I'm sorry but some ppl just need to get over themselves. Patience is a virtue. You better have at least one in your life.
I love the intro. It actually reminds me of the Heroes Of Might And Magic II fabulous CD soundtrack! Also it's almost as haunting as the intro song "Baba Yetu" in Civilization VI. But only almost.
Guys, you rock, and you deserved all the money I payed for the game. I LOVE you. Cheers from the EU! btw. Why is the text black all of a sudden?
Well, the review is certainly nice but I was kinda concerned about the specialization thing... I mean I love to specialize myself when I ply sucha game. I just hope it won't be too tough...
I'm sorry but this pre-view seems like a preview of a preview itself if you know what I mean. I ADORE reading literate game fans writing about a given game. Have you read the Adrenaline Vault review of Galactic Civ I? Now that is what I call a decent read.
Hi, Just wondering if some of you guys can tell me how is GalCiv II doing shipping-wise?? I mean all that hype surrounding it on the net should be definitely enough to make the game a successful release. I wonder how many copies this game must sell before StarDock can say they made any profit out of it. BTW, does anyone know how many copies has the first one sold?
I thought the Collectors Edition from SD was also a special package? Would be nice if it were a steel one...but whatever. I think the box looks nice.
Thank you very much for the neat round up of things, Frogboy! I think Stardock has put great effort into making this game as user-friendly as possible (vide the lack of anti-piracy protection). Let me just say that I am one of many grateful game fans out there who really really appreciate and support Stardock for constanly putting out quality stuff... You guys rock and I can't repeat that enough. <img src="smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
Another one from the EU here. I got excellent download rates; 120-150 kb/s for the game itself and about 600 kb/s for the files.
