I'm running Win 10 Version 21H1 Build 19043.1110. I just installed this month's Windows updates and Fences beta is broken again. By broken again I mean that after rebooting I am getting the dialog saying explorer has crashed and to Right-click the desktop and select "Enable Fences" from the menu - Which then crashes explorer again - and on and on. Fences never starts. I had had no issues since I fixed it the first time until I rebooted after installing thi

I have Fences working! The culprit appears to have been Recuva (File recovery software). Unbeknownst to me, it installs a menu handler in Explorer. Happy Camper here, now! [e digicons]|-)[/e]

Fences works correctly in the test account. What are my next steps?

I just installed the Fences 3.10 beta. After reboot and every time I try to enable Fences by right-click menu, it crashes explorer. Running Windows 10 v21H1. Event viewer shows Fences as the culprit. (Explorer crashed, Fences .dll is the faulting module.)

Well, we've made progress - Expired is gone but now so is Wincustomize.

Not fixed. Still says EXPIRED.

I am running Start10 v1.52 beta and when I set Admin Tools to Display as a menu, all I get is an empty frame. If I click within that frame, tools will launch, although the menu itself is invisible. I just upgraded from v1.50 and had the same issue there. BTW - If I set it to display as link, that works as expected. Any help you can offer will be appreciated.

Guys, I figgered it out: Only the Closed folder icon needs to be customized. I am now a very happy camper!!! [e digicons]\o/[/e]

Are you referring to open folder/closed folder? If I define those, then live folders appear on top of the static icons and icons within the package all get shifted such that every icon after the open/closed folder ones are incorrect. This requires me to restore windows default icons, delete the icon package, reboot and start over.

Beta 2 does indeed seem to have the Cortana and All Apps problems licked, but I don't get a custom icon for an empty live folder? Have I missed something I have to do? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 final and while I can apply a cursor in the new OS, it reverts to windows standard after awhile. As yet I haven't observed an obvious cause or pattern. Just a heads-up for your To Do list. [e digicons];P[/e] I realize there will be "growing pains" as the new OS is adopted.
