It's generally bad form to tell a website how their website shoud perform. It's always appropriate to ask for features, but generally not to instruct people who run a website as to what they should be doing. ;) You will not always receive a warm welcome with that approach. If you are logged in, the forums will track what posts youve read and display icons for the posts appropriately. This has been in place for some time and works as designed. Because we have well over 500,000 posts (and

Tested working with Impulse, IE7, Firefox 2.0.0.14 and Firefox 3.0. Sounds like you have an issue with the cookies on your system. I would reccommend clearing your cookies for Internet Explorer.
And I had a Karma point earlier, did it expire?
Wizard1956, One of the support guys pointed out your reply and concern about the Karma that you thought you might have lost. When you're on a forum, you'll only see karma that was given to you, for posts which are part of the website's forums that you're currently viewing. For example; The Stardock Forums have a category 'Sugar and Candy' and someone gives you karma for a reply on a post in that categor

Personally I think that labeling it 'Possible Identity Theflt and Security Risk' is greatly overblowing the situation. I do however, understand that it would make people uncomfortable. I'm scheduled to make an update to the forums this week, and I'll remove the actual birthday from the display. If you're really worried about people knowing your birthday, you might want to have a talk with the folks at Zaba search. Simply entering a name for most people will reveal their birthday.
The next update (beta) will have the ability to choose (for each user) where the soundpackages are kept and where the program will look for them.
This is corrected with the last update.

Fuzzy: exactly how long did you wait before you tested to see if the feature was working (or not)? There is a massive amount of data that has to be updated when you change that option, combined with server caching, it could be up to 20 minutes to see the full effect. Btw guys, this is a suggestions thread, not a bug thread
I have another question about the timestamp issue (I know it's beating a dead horse) but would it be possible to allow the users to select their time zone so the timestamp will be correct for each user, or would that be too much modding? Keep crusading for this and it might get implemented. The more people cry out for these kinds of features,
47songs : I'm sorry but we cannot reproduce that error with firefox 1.5.0.4 (several people here have tried). We'll continue to investigate.
I'll send this off to T-Man to take a look at. But we've tested the current versions of IE, Firefox and Opera and can't reproduce this error. At this point I do appreciate you reporting the issue and we will have a look at it, but further issues with IE 7 (beta any) should probably just be emailed to me and I'll archive them. When the first stable IE7 is released we'll have a look over the archived issues and make sure none of them are present.
47songs : This forum post is for the new forums at forums.stardock.com, not for the wincustomize forums. Please post issues about the Windustomize forums under the 'Site Issues' category on forums.wincustomize.com.
To All : When reporting an issue with these new forums it is very important to let us know what browser , browser version and page address/url you are using. Please don't forget this. That information will allow us to fix the problem a lot faster and ensure it doesnt resurface. Just to reiterate, at this time we will not be addressing Safari issues. If anyone using Safari would like, you can emai
Wreckless Eric : I'm not aware of any link on forums.stardock.com that will direct you to a site address with c=1 in the link. How did you arrive at that? Can you please list the steps?
As much as we would like to, we're not coding for IE7 Beta (anything) at the moment. As with any other beta software, the inner workings are completely open to change - at any time - without any notice. If we attempted to write for IE7 while it was in beta (or any beta browser for that matter) we could potentially be changing our code for every version. Wreckless Eric : can you reproduce this on any other browser? We're also doing our best to make nice with all the different
DarthGriffin, please check your email. Also, are you speaking of trouble changing your nickname in the metaverse for a character (ie, character name) or in the 'my account' page?

I've pretty much inherited the forums project here at stardock (however, we all work on it). I see that you had pointed out that there were several other posts made on this topic. Please search for replies made by myself to these posts. I've listed some very good reasons in the past. The forums have never enjoyed a constant amount of attention in the past, which is changing now. We are also in the process of making major changes to the system. Have a look through the older posts agai
