Peapod is doing quite well here in Maryland. I see their delivery trucks all over the place. It wasn't that WebVan had a bad idea, they just had a wretched business model - as did most of the dot-coms that imploded at the time. Heck, Amazon has often been accused of having a wretched business model.... Don't get me started about Wal-Mart.

Starting up TweakVista goes ok, but CPU usage runs way up (not pegged, just high) and clicking on anything results in a looooooong pause, then a very slow activation of whatever control was clicked on. And in Services-Features, a mouse hover, which is supposed to cause a 10 second delay, then the pop-up box takes 8...14...22...31 seconds to "fade" in. The numbers (8, 14, 22, 31) were the "fade" opacity changes. It takes about eight seconds to change pages, from the time you click on t

Microwave weapons have been in work for a long time. I remember reading about a perimeter defense system in work years ago. It's interesting to see them finally being deployed. They aren't harmless, of course, but it's better than shooting people. And microwaves have no ionizing effect like x-rays so there wouldn't be any radiation based side effects. Just heat. I do have to point out though that "between x-rays and microwaves" (from

I see this is an old problem, but I'd really like some information on when/whether it's going to be addressed. I use dual monitors, and SDVD does actually seem to figure out that the desktop spans two monitors, and sort of handles it. But it does two bad things. First, it's snapping any window that opens to the primary display. This behavior persisted under ObjectBar even after I removed the SDVD tool from the bar, and even after I uninstalled SDVD completely. Second, if you use the

More weirdness - I'm having occasional instances where the configuration dialogue or the bar itself stops responding. I have to go into the Task Manager and kill the application, then start it again. Any developers reading this? I'd really like to be able to stop the thing from snapping windows to the primary display. It's almost annoying enough to make me stop using it.

Here's another weirdness. I dropped in the virtual desktops tool, to see what it would do. It didn't do anything, really, so I took it back out. But now OB shifts every opening window to my primary display. This doesn't happen if I unload OB. Changing themes has no effect, uninstalling the Stardock Virtual Desktops application from my machine had no effect. Unloading OB stops the behavior, so it's definately coming from OB. I'm going to try ininstalling and reinstalling OB to see if that

I have a similar problem. I prefer it to run on my secondary monitor as well, but if you turn on autohide it shifts over to the same edge of the primary monitor, and won't un-hide. Also, drop-down menus appear on the far left side of the secondary monitor display. Running on my primary monitor all is well.

Well, I tried it on my machine at work. Utterly different from my laptop, with the same result - Windows goes to classic mode and stays there. My laptop is a Gateway tablet, completely up to date on updates, my personal machine. My desktop is a Dell, with an Office load and some developer tools but otherwise stock. The only thing they have in common is Object Desktop.

Well, it didn't work on my laptop at all. Darnit. The troubleshooting info all said it should be working, and it didn't actually crash and the utility came up, it just wouldn't skin the UI. Dropping back to 4 worked fine.
