I have been into politics ever since the Carter/Ford election back in 76. To me the presidential campaign season is up there with the Olympic Games. I've gone into every election day with the same butterflies in my stomach morphing into vampire bats as the drama unfolded. The spectre of "bloodless coup", along with the rise and fall of "my guy" was what I lived for. This year was different. There was just as much drama, just as much excit

We can all name celebrities, politicians and journalists who obviously got where they were on talent, ability, some good timing and any other reason than their looks (Geddy Lee, Prs. Bush & Heraldo... just to name a few) . All this contraversy over steriod use puts the suspected athelete in the same class as the celebrities, politicians and journalists who obviously had little more than looks (real or through the marvels of modern technology).
Marriage: What you do when you finally found the one person in the whole world that you care enough about to annoy the rest of your life!!!
"What happened to free speech?"
This would have been in the late 70's early 80's (when everything became more mainstream).
LouReed, I would say is a great lyricist, a great presence, but not a guitar god. Have to agree with you there. It seems that everything I've ever heard from The Velvet Underground, I liked better when someone else covered it.
"Homophobe" (1980s): Anxiety one feels when they think they might be gay. "Homophobe" (90s): Dislike of gays. "Homophobe" (00s): Disagreeing with a Gay activist, or their stated agenda.
Thanks Champas, and you enjoy celebrating your Godless Man how you see fit.
I'm not in the Army anymore, cause I got smart and joined the Air Force... but I still tell my troops those simple rules... 'course, the Air Force isn't too big on being in a certain uniform, but that's beside the point. Your just happy because, when it's cold you can wear your "Air Force Gloves".
Hey, I had a couple of friends who were in the WWC of G when I was in high school. Never knew any of that stuff about them, but then again I never ate at their home either. You may know them too, they were at all the meetings. lol
Crazy insanity of the brain is the greatest thing that seperates us from lower life forms (like attorneys and university General Ed professors). Looking forward to the glimpses into your insanity!!!
My screenname comes from my desire to be a potential zoologist You only want to someday become a "potential zoologist"? Sorry, couldn't resist
Well, in reality there are really two Christmases (or is it Chirstmi?). There is the Christian celebration of Christ's birth and the secular celebration of shopping, exchanging gifts, getting drunk on egg nog and singing "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". Apparently some school systems have launched efforts to keep the students from getting drunk. Of course they are also concerned about students blaming antlered mammals for gr
I grew up in a "cult." You weren't a... a ... PURPLE-ist were you???
MUST SEE TV: First Amendment Project Films Air Tonite! !!!!That should be banned!!!!!
If I may add a few of my personal favorites.... The Late (would have been great) Criss Oliva,. The Late (and very great), Jimi Hendrix. Also... Stanley Jordan, Eric Johnson, Mark Knoffler, Jerry Reed, Chris DeGarmo, and what guitar list would be complete without Matt "guitar" Murphy!!!
Excellent article!!!!! The Sergeant who wakes first, hits the cot last, eats last, expects 100% from the troops while on duty, but can't seem to locate any of them when the 1st SGT activates weekend "hey you" roster, may never make CSM, but will usually get much more out of the troops than the other kind . Man I miss being an NCO!!!!
Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear Can anyone hear the song Winter Wonderland without the words "walking 'round in women's underwear" coursing through their minds during the chorus anymore?? I know I can't!!!! On that note, I
Mine was out of string of jobs I have had with a common suffix. Parachute Rigger, Paratrooper, Paramedicine Major, and Paramedic.... Now Parasite (lol). The 2k was in celebration of gaining my Paramedic certs (and the year I set up the Email account). Who knows, for reasons of tradition, maybe next I'll be a Paralegal. ;~D
Marriage is a contract it has nothing to do with love or commitment. But, isn't a contract a commitment??? You are mistaking marriage laws with the institution of marriage. The laws of any society are nothing more than a means of defining consequences and rewards for unacceptable and
When I was younger we lived in Germany for awhile. We lived in a small German town where the roads that were not dirt roads were "paved" with cobble stones. There were only two families on the street where we lived that weren't German. This difference made for a lot of fun. We often had our neighbors over for meals, and we often ate at neighbors homes. The German families wanted to see how what we liked to do, what we liked to ea
the reunion was awesome!! Now that brings back memories of days at Fort Bragg. Lots of time away, which meant lots of "reunions". Come to think of it, that's probably how we got 4 kids in 5 1/2 years!!! lol The Airborne was Awesome!!!!
I take it that you're married, Ted? 19 years, 4 kids
The way to keep a marriage going is: You wake up in the morning married, you go to bed at night married, and you spend the whole day not doing anything that will screw it up!!! ;~D
I have a hard time using Babelfish. Maybe because I can't seem to get it into my ear.
