Beli Bulma:
"I join a church to worship God, not to worship a pastor"
That is a cop out and the lie of a coward who can't stand for his convictions. Every time he sat in that congregation and said, "Amen" to the sermon, he was testifying to God that he agreed with what was said. So, he either lied to his God for 20 years, or he is lying about what he believes now. Either way, he's a lying coward and apparently will do and say anything to win... eve
No, I refuse to support Palin because of her anti-woman stance on issues that are very important to me (as a woman) and that she's so far right religiously and seems to let those beliefs influence her decision making, that is something I *cannot* and will not support.
See, you choose the same way I do then. You look at the candidate's issues and decide based on who comes closest to your views. Other than she doesn't support the bigoted idea that one human
Edit button doesn't work, so I'll just answer the other question here.... The difference between voting for someone and supporting someone. Supporting a candidate is getting out and helping with the campaign, contributing money, time and effort, talking to people about the issues of the candidate and otherwise helping them gain votes other than just my one. Why vote for someone I don't support? I am voting for someone I support. The ticket is M
Not sure what hope is there, she clearly has no foreign policy experience (seeing another country from your porch doesn't count, I'm sorry). And where's the difference between getting the vote but not support? Why vote for someone you don't support? I don't understand that.
All we have is the candidates on the table. You can't sit there and tell me that you wont' support Palin for VP due to lack of experience, but you'll support Obama for president with no foreign
Uh...you did know that McCain's campaign is run by a bunch of lobbyists, several of which were paid by Fannie Mae, right?
Your link is right, McCain has no room to point that particular finger, but have you ever read anything from me about McCain being some great candidate? Nope. To me this election is a wash, we are left with what we have. I was waiting to see who McCain would choose as a running mate to see if there was any hope to salva
Actually, I think there is a difference between being interested in learning what people in other countries think about the US and Americans and wanting to base domestic policy and laws on how they do things in other countries. I know when I have travelled, or met people here for other countries, I am often interested to hear what they think about the US and Americans. I'm also usually interested to learn the differences between how we see them and how they really are. S
To be quite frank, however, I no more like the what I'm hearing/reading of McCain, either... and were I eligible, neither he or Palin would get my vote. There's something slimy about the pair of them, and my conscience would not allow me to cast a vote for someone whose intergity and honesty I very much doubt.
Interesting take. The thing is, the apparently sliminess of Palin is (so far) just rumors and accusations, all those lawyers the DNC se
Have to agree with Kurtin on this one. The egg and sperm compined aren't a human being. A new human being doesn't exist until the first two nucleotides combine into the individual's DNA, even then it isn't alive unless the cells continue to divide. All life begins with a the cells dividing, it can only happen in living organisms, so the zygote can't be defined as "not really alive". The zygote also can't be any other species but Homo Sapien (Human Being), since
What's interesting about this hacker situation is, nothing incriminating or even embarrassing was found by the hacker. I mean, how many of us can have our Emails hacked into without a single juicy tidbit revealled? The democrats yell, Drill Drill Drill, but can't seem to strike anything oily on Palin. lol
I have to laugh here. Not one of the companies that have failed were free market companies. They are companies that were either given guarantees by the government, or partially owned by them. This isn't an example of failure of the free market, this is exactly what happens when you tell companies to go ahead and take stupid risks with investments, we'll cover your losses.
Sperm and eggs both fit that standard definition...they are living cells(they respond to stimuli). Do they count as 'human' before they unite in your opinion?
Of course they are living cells, but their DNA identifies them as part of an organism, not an organism themselves. The zygote inside a human mother has DNA which identifies it as an organism.
when did carter become part of this? if carter is involved, let's get nixon in here too. you want 4 more years of nixon?
The same way Bush has anything to do with this election, but since the Democrats are stuck in "run against Bush" mode, they havan't noticed he's not on the ballot in any state.
Andrew:
See, this is what I loathe about politics; One group of people trying to cut down another group of people for their beliefs. It never goes anywhere, and you get a discussion with so much misinformation, FUD and media regurgitation that the discussion is doomed to end up a 'he said' - 'she said' mess that doesnt go anywhere. People should just state who they like, why they like them and live and let live.
If Obama is on the take and part of groups like AC
Snidely Whiplash:
Obama is a racist or so at least somebody in this thread says. i highly doubt that. the man's mother is white! remember, whoever said he is a racist, racism goes both ways and you ARE guilty of it by making your comment.
So now it's racist to call a bigot a racist just because he's Black? Have you ever read up on his religion? It is entirely based on racist "doctrine". Read <a href="http://www.trinitychicago.org/index.php?option=c
He was a pilot, not a Division officer, therefore, sorry but NOT a commander or leader, WOM.
Um, maybe reading comprehension is not your strong suit... or is it that you just ignore whatever doesn't fit your myopic view of the inside of the sandpile your head's stuck in... Of maybe you are just the average lefty. What is it about the left that they can't read a full bio of a candidate? They point to Palin's time as a mayor, but gloss over the part about he
Exactly, so how do our constitutional rights apply to them, if they aren't even citizens?
Where does the US Constitution say that it only applies to citizens?
And dissing community organizers (who do damn good things for little or no pay) and calling your wife a trollop and c*nt are so much better. Not to mention that thinking that just because you pick a woman on your ticket (who in fact is anti-woman) will garner women's votes because she's a woman is insulting.
Wow, you really don't have the ability to think for yourself do you!
More Dem dirty tricks.. figures.
Palin is less humorous. she's less qualified, too.
The only thing Obama is experienced in is being a racist slime.
Welcome to JU! Always glad to have another guitarist around! Looking foward to reading your stuff.
Getting rid of the G-8 will not solve the crisis in Darfur. Not at all.
Neither will having a G8.
Your injections of humor, the "other" side of politics and comments about religion in my posts will be missed. So will the stories of your travels and adventures. I'll see you around Blogspot.
Zoo:
Life: The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, growth, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the environment originating from within the organism.
True, that is the scientific definition of life, but it gets thrown out the window when it comes to the abortion issue. Zygote and Fetus are both phases of human life, and fit the scientif
Obama is a candidate that believes in abortion of babies. Free choice, he calls it.
Defenders of Slavery back when it was legal defined it as "free choice" too.
No one is arguing that murder is wrong and a sin. The point which you never seem to understand is that some people don't BELIEVE that a baby is actually alive until it is born. In their minds, when they BELIEVE this fact, that makes abortion all right because TO THEM, the baby isn't technically alive until it is out of the womb.
That's what happens when we become so arrogant that we define life by how or if other organisms interact with us. It really is a stupid w
