I'm not sure if its my computer or not, but setting widgets or objects at desktop level does not make it into a true "desktop icon" ... [winkey]+D still minimises them... I believe its a limitation of DesktopX... because I tried Konfabulator and Avedesk, and the both work "correctly" ie. widgets act like icons and don't minimise...
