Master of Magic is still one of my top 10 games. I would be happy with a MoM2 that was just MoM with updated graphics, bug fixes, and re-balanced. To make MoM2 into the best game ever all you would need to do in addition to the above is add the following; 1) Hex based map / Combat map. 2) Multiplayer (Including Hotseat). 3) Modability.
