Have you done as they suggested? As noted in the support response, each time you respond to a case your issue moves to the back of the queue. Only reply when needed.

For normal fences (holding desktop icons) no details are available. That option is only available for folder portals. I guess you could make a folder portal to the desktop and view the details.

If you see the "Up Arrow" it means that you have navigated down to a sub-folder. Right-clicking on the arrow will take you back up. When you are at the topmost level (the folder/directory you created the fence with) the arrow will be a folder icon.

The user interface to change skins isn't as exciting as previous versions but it is clean and easy to use. (I think my favorite UI was this one:)
