You should spend the time to learn how to design your own ships. It is a very big part of the fun of the game. All the ships i first designed were crap too. but if you go to your saved game directory in 'my documents' and look in the 'ships' folder, you can delete them so they do not keep reapearing like a bad smell with every new game!
SPECIALISE! (large planets)_never mix resource structures. A planet produces either income or science but never both. never build one off projects on large planets unless they boost that planets specialised resource. small planets are normally best for one off projects.
My only complaint would be that i cannot find the auto launch feature since installing Galciv 2. You have no idea how tedious it is to have to launch every single ship i build!!! and then when i try to hurry and don't quite click in the right place, i am rewarded with a trip to the shipyard.... where i have to waste time scrolling through the list to reset the stupid ship production grrrrrrr
HI I decided to try the 'Dreadlords on parade' game. I was playing on Tough level and about 3 or so turns after the first galactic vote thingy... A dreadlord transport turned up with escort! Is this just a one off hit to wake me up or are they programmed to hit me with all they got as a primary target?
